For those wanting more Tri-City info, here you go!

I think it's about time to put the tired ole dog to sleep, jumpinjackoffdw. I didn't see where you were spoken to? Whats the Deal with Jimmy? First you want to run him down, then you kizz his heiny? Jimmy had a great time with us and I'm sure he'll be back.

Another thing, what I said in the earlier post, and in response to a post thats gone is that a sportsman is really just a mod with Fenders, repete, Sportsman is really just a mod with fenders. Not a crate, repete, not a crate. That repete was for the older gentlemen in our discussion.

Yes, and yes 100 more times on Stan being the problem. Promises not delivered!! Dont ask me, ask everyone else who's dealt with him! The proofs in the puddin.

Excuse me? A Sportsman is a Mod with fenders?

Who are you kidding? We have both of these cars and it's way more expensive to run a Modified than a Sportsman.

My son, Jimmy, was planning to run the Sportsman again every Friday at Tri-City this year, but now that won't happen at all. So, if he runs the Sportsman (which was the plan for 2007) I guess we'll be at Belleville, Highland, or I-55, and not Tri-City. :( This sure threw a wrench in our racing plans for 2007. Monetarily, it was tough to run two classes of cars for 3 nights a week.

My personal thoughts on why the Sportsman class was dropped -- Kevin paid a great payout on this class, $400.00 to win for the Feature, way more than other area tracks. He paid $500.00 for a Modified Feature win, so racing a Sportsman car there was lucrative! He probably made less money on this class than the others, so instead of dropping the winnings for the class, he dropped the class. Racing more than 5 classes of cars would make for a really late night of racing every week, so he dropped one class. I hate to see this happen. I've enjoyed racing at TCS the last 2 years and will miss the many friends I've made there. We can't race there if they don't race our class of car. :(

I think people are just going to have to realize that any time you disagree with what the CARS people say, from CARS VP Sean Franklin to Ed Pursell and now Shane Cockrum (Groove Grabber), you are going to be insulted and attacked.

Like I already said, I get flamed by these guys darn near every time I post, and now it would seem they don't just hate me, they hate everybody who doesn't join their club.

T.Nie I remember a year or two ago how passionate you were about the crates. And you stood up to anyone who argued about them. Not sure why all the pissing and moaning is going on here. Just the same ole' thing a few years later. Some of the same players. Same song and dance. Just a few new dancing partners... No disrespect to anyone.
I can see the coin has two sides and only one side can be the winner :(
Like I said before I sure hate to see the sportsman lose a track to race at they are very exciting to watch these days. But I also see the C.A.R.S. Series as a way of the future.. I do see on this conversation that some people want to jump in the fire and cry when they get burned

Did anything I say indicate I don't think the concept of crate engine late model racing is a good idea?

I hardly see how anyone is crying about getting burned. In fact, as soon as I posted on this thread I knew I would get insulted and attacked by the same people who always talk trash about me.

My only question is, what took you so long to join in with your friends?

For the record I have never met or spoken with my so called friends....

how to run sportsman

Which tracks are opening up the Street Stock rules????

Here are the 2007 UMP street stock rules. From the sound of this these cars will be your sportsman replacements. Put a floor pan, steel body and firewall in you car and race with the street stocks. This is exactly what happened when i started racing these cars 6 years ago.

Depending on what tri-city does these are the rules that UMP has set. Tri-City gave plenty of notice and it looks like you can run the Dart heads and Alum. intakes.

I heard Tri-City was NOT going to be UMP next year????

No "OFFICIAL" word on that yet. If they dont go UMP that does not mean they wont run the same rules. If they want other cars to run their track they might want to think about following in line with the rules. There will be no way a street stock with old rules will be able to compete with the new rules from UMP. OH, they are also changing to E-mod tires.

Oh, I think that you have gone on the record many times as a big supporter of the CARS boys. In fact, I think that just recently I read a post by you that referred to CARS as "respectable and legit."

What, now you want to distance yourself from them? On this thread? After all the bashing and insults they have hurled around, you want to bail on them?

Some friend and supporter you are. I'm glad you don't like me.:)

Actuallyi think the cars had a good year. Never heard anyone complain about pay and all.. I am not trying to distance myself from anyone. I have never meet sean or the other guy or even carry on chat with them. So therefore they are not my friends per say.... Not bailing on anyone... And I do RESPECT the people who have the CARS series.

Are you tring to say that the cars series has such a small fan and support base that everybody knows each other and are all close personal friends?

You opened this debate with Sean and Ed and Shane so why are you whining now?

Todd, shame on you!! You know, I'm an independent thinker and will always stand up for what I think is good. I don't stand up for someone else if I think they are wrong. I very much had respect for you and although I understood that Sean and yourself had problems, that made no difference to me. But as of lately, I've noticed a side of Todd that I had never seen before. Now, I'm beginning to question if I didn't see something that Sean did. The bottom line is that I believe in the crates. I think that they have something great to offer local racing and as with any true believer, I'm excited to get the word out. No disrespect to the sportsman guys, I probably shouldn't have said somethings I said but I felt backed into the corner. I apologize for any comments taken wrong.

Dirtgirl, are we all still getting together this weekend, We can get things plotted up! lmao

CARS Rebate

CARS will again be offering a rebate program on crate motor purchases. The details have not been finalized but CARS will give a rebate to a set number of racers who both purchase a crate motor and a CARS membership for the 2007 season. Last year we issued rebates to 15 different racers at $300 a piece. This practice is designed to support any racer considering the crate series which in turn will help our santioned tracks. Contact Sean2 via PM for more info.

Speaking of Sean- he has done a great job supporting CARS racers and santioned tracks. The allegations of him showing favoritism and working special "deals" for these tracks is true! Shame on you Sean!

Lastly, if you are at the PRI show stop by and see Sean and the Camo LM being raffled by CARS.

Thank you for this post. I do also think Sean has done a really good job of getting the word out about the CARS series. And i will contact him about that rebate if i do go that way. Thats a good deal. Not knocking the FATRACK at all. And im not going to get in a discussion between the 2 series because its pointless. Pick one and go racing..its simple. I do think as ive said before the CARS are for the local racers who just want to race 1 track and have fun doing it and get some good points. Like NASCAR had when Tri City ran them.

Thats my take on it. Put a floorpan in and current sportman with a firewall and bam instant street stock.

hmm

no weight jacks no pull bars no j bars ,30 inches from the center of the rear end full frames can any of you sportsmans do that if so put a flat top motor in it an come race nobody is getting anything done sitting on here crying about CARS

Actually we owe a thank you to the Fergusons and the guys like Todd and Sean who were willing to bring the crates in here to start with. Doesnt matter what sanction. (CARS probably wouldnt be here if not introduced first by Fastrack.) Its just good for the future of racing.

Thanks to Kevin and Tammy for giving it a chance. No one can guarantee success but it wont fail for lack of hard work and committment. AK

what would be the significance of putting a name on a raffle ticket? i know what thought comes to mind, but don't wanna be thinking wrongly.
