hey bleedblue

notice the tire prep from american racerIt is highly recommended that asphalt tires be hot lapped before racing. Hot lapping will set the ultimate size of the tire and allow you to set your stagger with more confidence. If your asphalt track was recently resurfaced we recommend at least one and preferably two heat cycles (hot lap sessions) before the tires are used in a feature. Recently resurfaced asphalt tracks often have sharp edged aggregate and tend to blister tires. One or two heat cycles will reduce the tendency to blister.
Asphalt tires can be stretched to help achieve stagger requirements. After the bead has been set the tire can be aired up to ca 40 psi and set out in the sun. As the tire heats up in the sun it will stretch. If you use bleeder valves during the race, the stretched tire may shrink again.
In a similar way, asphalt tires can be shrunk. Get a lot of heat into the tire during a hot lap session and deflate the tire immediately. As the nylon cords cool, they will shrink. A word or warning, jack the car up before the tire is deflated.
Dirt Track Racing Tire Prep
Everyone has their own little tricks of the trade when it comes to preparing dirt track tires. There are some fundamental things to remember.
Sipes- Sipes create heat. The only reason to sipe a tire is to generate “wiggle” in the tread. The siped surfaces, ie the inside of the cut, rub and wiggle against each other and heat is generated.
Grooves- Grooves do two separate and sometime contrary things to tires. Grooves reduce heat. Heat escapes from the surfaces created by the grooves. One large block of rubber will be hotter in equal service to two smaller blocks that sum to the same amount of rubber. The smaller blocks have more total surface area to shed heat and the distance to a surface is shorter. Grooves also create edges. More edges generally help on a slick, non-abrasive track. Ironically, slick, non-abrasive tracks don’t tend to generate much heat in a tire. On an abrasive track a racer may groove his/her tires to shed heat. On a non-abrasive track a racer may groove the tires for edges and then sipe them like crazy to try to get heat.

i wish you would grow some b a l ls and meet me somewhere and say that to my face you fatass piece of sh*t.
just who the hell you trying to kid? I,ve seen you a few times at the races and you tuck your tail and dont say sh_t. you need to reach down and see if you still got a set!! they down got washed up like the rest of yuz have.

Dirt racing rules, infractions, and penalties changed when UMP/World Group took over. Question:Can we still clone Bob Memmer......May He Rest in Peace!!!!!!!!

the super duper simple eazy way to end the whole mess is if an A 40 is supposed to punch 55 on the durometer, your tire better punch 55 when checked. No lab tests to deal with, no 2 week waits, no BS. 5 million times simpler that all this crap going on. But then that would mean you can prep your tires and they will last longer, Hoosier wouldnt sell as many....... We all know there a crap bias ply tire that wont hold air for more than a day, didnt one of the posts above say something about Hoosier being proud of this tire theyve been producing for 20 years? Eric Rendlman is an old friend form my karting days, Im about 5 seconds from calling him and Nick myself. I know how prep and cutting works and I know how simple it is. Everyone is freaking out because UMP is making such an issue about it, people that dont understand it think tire prep is the end of the world. Get the money out of the motors with a few rules, and quit trying to convince the world the price of racing will skyrocket over prepped tires

I like how no one has anything to say about how Nick helped a mod racer go from 50 tires in a year to 15 tires....u can't tell me that even with the cost of chemical that it didnt help....bottom line is if the car isnt right the prep won't work. You also still have to be able to drive.

I'm not sayin its right because it is illegal....but look at the cost savings....everyone complains about the cost, here's a way to save money. UMP and Hoosier are in bed together....its pretty obvious. JMO

Dean it happened and it is true. I wish I were able to prove it but I can't because of the obviously reason.

Mfloyd,
Eric and I work very closely together and if you call him he will tell you that I'm one of the beat in the stock car market, he wouldn't work with me if I was and you know that. Eric is a great guy and the best in the country at what he does. Call him first and talk to him about me, then if you feel comfortable about me then call me. If you know Eric then you know he knows what he's talking about.

...They get a hell of a kickback from hoosier every year guess what they call that business gotta pahy the bills somehow and most other sanctioning bodies are doing the same thing with hoosier why do you think american racer had a lawsuit they didn't do their homework

No problem with them getting a kick back. You are right that is part of business. But purposely manufacturing and mandating a sh!t tire to sell more to inflate the kick back to screw your racers is a scam. The only ones who can do anything about it is the RACERS!

If doping the tires made the tire better but SHORTENED tire life, UMP would give it their blessing.

Seems like U.M.P is dragging their feet about the Kloos announcement and Jimmy Mars, where do you draw the line about prep?Is using Dawn to clean them prep or Simple Green,WD40,brake cleaner,Castrol Super Clean? For years many racers were grinding tires in their pits in front of everyone and spraying them with brake cleaner, now you dont see that so why is that?Marty has said that racers used to buy their tires at the track, now almost everyone buys them after the races are over.If they did the thorough tire testing like Bloomquist paid for how many local guys would get busted?

If guys are being caught with illegal tires now, that's their own fault. There are to many people like myself that can provide products that won't be caught.

I hope this nick fellow keeps doing what he does untill ump grows a set of alls and steps up to the plate. Tri city was warned friday that he was on his why there and they did nothing to stop him. they even let him in the gate with his tires and no pit pass.

Tell me this ain't so ! Sure Allied wasn't running the show ? MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM Just Sayin !

Neither Nick Geisiking or his Products are welcome at Tri-City Speedway!

Why do we need this service or products to race today?

These are our 2011 rules concerning tires:

evaluated and returned within a reasonable period of time.
2 – ANYONE FOUND WITH an ILLEGAL TIRE or TIRES WILL RECEIVE A 1 YEAR
