JYI new management

Just my opinion and experiences (take it for what it is worth) (Not much) lol We have raced several places that ran 4 wheelers the same time and it made the track even better and faster. They lay more rubber and a wider rubber strip which in returns gives you another lane to race on. As far as tires go just run what you got dont complain about it. We were at thunderlake last weekend and got beat by burris and dunlop tires, and i would have had burris on if i had any. We drive 2 1/2 hours to jyi and love the track and the racers that are there. We will support you what ever you decide to do Rodney I just want to say thank you for giving us a place to run. Only thing i would change is please have a tech guy that will do a real tech other than fuel and restictor plates. Like i said its jmo and not trying to piss anyone off.

After reading the post by the "new" management i really hope others would get more concerned about how JYI is going to be run next year and quit worrying about which tire rule is best for their own situation. I detect a real lack of respect for those who dare to disagree with whomever the "new" management may be.

Just Some Questions

I am new to kart racing. I have been doing pavement racing and I am thinking about running dirt. Can someone tell me where this JYI, and Thunderlake, and some other dirt tracks that are decent? Also, what place has the best turnout for competition? From what I read Tri City is questionable??? Thanks alot. I appreciate it.

At one time I was the flagman at the track and I had fun at the track it is one of the best tracks I have been to and no matter what the track runs it will still be in good shape and Rondey is an ok person he knows how to run things so he can get the job done.Josh Turner

Ballet and Tofu

I used to deal with Rodney and Sam(the guy who owns the property) alot. My only suggestion is to get a tougher skin and enjoy racing when you can, or get into ballet and eating tofu. They are not bad to deal with. You just have to want to race and want to be competitive. A few years back JYI was a thriving track and I believe it can and will be again. Cut Rodney some slack.:p

Seems to me the people who are saying deal with it, are the onews who don't race there every week. We just want somewhere to race on Saturday night every week that is close. But I guess we will have to deal with it. Good luck next year.

I have to agree with 44r dad!! I think people need to quit worrying about what tires to run and let the guys and gals get out there and race with whatever they want! That's what makes it a competition, right? We like the track as is and like racing EVERY Saturday night. Jay and Joann did a great job at promoting the track and it's a shame they are no longer in charge. I hope Rodney can keep his temper in check (I've seen him in action a couple of times at JYI) and keep the kart count up at JYI. It's suppose to be fun!!

Props

Yes they did do a good job at having the races every Sat. No doubt. Ask Frank though, actually running a track is a 7day a week job. Who was out there that much? Just asking I don't know for sure. I bet a million that Rodney doesn't WANT to run this track. All he has ever wanted to do is have somewhere for his kids to race just like most of you. I've been on the receiving end of his temper several times. Teddy Bear:p bottom line feelings got hurt. That's racing. Now if you want to talk about promoting a track we all need to take credit for that.

we raced jyi last season as much as we could it was our favorite local track always run well and kept up well i only have one concern not so much with who is running it but has anyone thought if bedrock goes to sat. which is being talked about and jyi goes to every other week what do you think the outcome will be. or if both run sat. it will split racers even more with low counts at all tracks in the area maybe rodney and frank need to talk with each other, i realize some teams only run one nite per week but the ones that can and will run multiple nites may go where they can run more often. other than that if the original questions were serious i personally would not care for a tire rule other than that pits are fine, payback is fine but if you want to increase thats great, more banking or a larger track would be great but this one works so why go through alot of work, chutes on and off of track are fine i really dont see much to change everything was run great. i hope they can get an increase in kart count this year but this past year combining classes worked fine i'm sure some didnt like it but i had no complaint. wish for a good upcoming year. george

jyi new managment

no changes to the track , keep open tire rule , more lights in pits , lower entry fee to 15.00 and pit pass to 5.00 and raise spectators fee to 5.00 to off set it abit , kids 6 to 12 3.00 kids under 6 free . give alittle more time between races to make kart changes , people racing there for the first time need a chance to be competitive .
