We will see what tracks take the steps and put the deal together , its not my place or anyone else's place to call out any tracks until they feel the deal is in the right situation to make announcement and move forward but I know for Fact that there is talks from at least 6 tracks in Illinois talking and trying to form a plan. From what I have heard so far from a few promoters I think a lot of the drivers/owners would be on board.

Last time we ran KLMS it was the last "big money" Mod show. Our crate pay got cut . by $50.00 on 3rd. two weeks before that we found out they were only going to pay and mention the top 5 in points only. We are not going back this year. I paid over $125.00 to race our crate there for the mods to get the "big" money the least they could do was payout full purse to all classes. We were top 6 in the class then and top 5 at PIR so we decided to keep running PIR where we know we get Respected by the owners/promoters and where the top 10 or more get paid and recognized at end of season. Ronnie at KLMS has a lot to learn on people skills, Every night at PIR we are thanked for coming and in these days that means a lot!! Tom Filkins 07 Crate!

I agree a lot of track owners also need to respect the drivers and car owners..... as well as the drivers and car owners need to respect owners in return and work together and work together to make it good for all involved because one can survive without the other!!... Good Pay out , Good Rules, Enforce Rules, and Support the tracks on a weekly basis...

I don't like seeing a track struggle but KLMS has pretty much done this to themselves. For example, the last time I went I raced two classes. I talked to track officials before any races started and they said to park the 2nd car at staging so I could swap out and it'd be no problem. I did that and after finishing the modified feature, I got in the late model and strapped in as quick as I could. Before I could even get on the track for the late model feature, they were already saying green flag next time around on the raceceiver and told me I'd have to start on the back because I wasn't lined up. That is after having to pay $140 to enter both cars and rent their transponders to race (neither class was a special show that week).

They advertised hot laps starting at something like 4:30 but then have you sitting in the pits waiting until sometimes over an hour later before calling for the first class to line up for hot laps. Then you go on the track to hot lap and dust is blowing like crazy. It just gives the impression that they don't care enough about the race teams or fans to put in the effort to make the track decent.

I don't think being UMP or not has anything to do with their problems. It has to do with attitude. I agree with ohsomthin, their people skills need some serious help.

On the other hand, I've raced two cars at Pevely and not had any issues. I'll gladly keep coming back to Pevely where, like Paducah, they thank you for showing up and act like they appreciate you coming to support their track.

Every track is a different situation that's for sure.... but as a whole...... we all need to work together and I personally feel that UMP is all about the $$ and what is best for them and don't listen to the Racer or Promoters much at all !! TIRES AND MOTORS ARE OUT OF CONTROL IN UMP !! And UMP saying they wont Sanction tracks the same night in certain areas because other tracks run that class.... but in others they do ...... they done away with mileage rules .... Just not right at all

to my knowledge the payout had not been cut . They simply decided not to have those "big" shows anymore the rest of the year. We were running for regular pay , at least we thought.

Regular pay at klms was cut depending on car count, but has been declining as year goes on, I tried running two classes and was told no at klms, they inspected cars in my class and said mine was as close to rules as you can get and no one else's was but since I was winning they were not going to enforce anything, now look at car count it's really sad but at Pir the Mason family does awesome job on track prep and everything!

when a crate car wins a $2500 to win show and the seals get tugged on and they pull apart ...well tech was done right but decision to let the win stand was crappy. There no reason to return?

If I remember correctly, the owner at KLMS came from a NASCAR background. There, they are the only game in town and it's their way or the highway. What he apparently doesn't understand is there is always another dirt track just down the road that would be more than happy to have that driver and his/her fans attend their track. I guess it will always be "the mistake by the lake". The bad reputation just keeps growing.

that might be the main source of the problem plus not many racers in the area plus everyone has to run sat night but wiat its ALL umps fault

I see that Kentucky lake has a AMS modifed race scheduled on sept 26... Same night as mod mania... That's probably not the smartest thing to do... They're getting a bad rap for track conditions anyway and now they wanna go up against one of the biggest races of the year... Not smart!!

Arrogance is not a good thing if you are running a racetrack. Maybe he can sell part of the land to the state for the new interstate that's being built near the track. Or is it possible that was the main reason for buying the track???

klms is UMP it wouldn't if they run it like some racers have said they run it , that place is a very nnice facility its ashame it can't be ran correctly
