Kentucky Lake making the decision to cut pay after August 1

There have been several tracks talking about leaving UMP. I might add there are some big name tracks that have had conversations about leaving UMP. They are working on a plan and if they can do what they have talked about doing you will see it happene. It just might take a couple more years. Racing in most areas have lost their luster. I don't think your ever going to see it get better or at least not in the near future. It's time to face the reality it's just not what it used to be. Yes some areas are doing better then others but, the sport is not heathy and we all know it.

F40dirthoundliteinnbiged, yes it all can't be blamed on the sanction that's for sure but, they have played a part in it or you wouldn't have the tracks that are talking about leaving UMP talking about it. Like I said if they can do what they want you will see it happen in the next couple of years but, i don't see it happening but, like one promoter told me don't be so sure of yourself.

but things can work out like one promoter told me don't be so sure of yourself. yeah they can leave if its make them feel good but guess what if the track doesn't tech not the sanction but the track the track will get the same results if not worse its not logical think its the sanction its the sanctions fault and can you guess which sanction has the biggest crown jewels

Devils advocate here is right. If the tracks that get away dont tech and enforce, youll lose alot more than you would if you had stayed.

look at west plains aka legit raceway the track is back from the ashes and they tech

does it matter if if is sanction are not no racers live around that area either benton fredricktown doniphan poplar bluff all closed and legit raceway is doing more than checking cars out they are doing called promoting wow what a concept

There will be rules and there will be input from drivers as well. Once these rules are agreed to by all they will be enforced at every track. The rules will be rules that can be enforced. There won't be pages and pages of rules but, they will be rules with cost savings in my mind. If a track decides not to enforce the rules they will be out. There will be a person that will monitor whether the rules are being enforced or not. Word of mouth will go a long way. The guy in charge of the rules will visit every track to make sure the rules are being enforced. Now this will take money to make this all happen and that's going to take sponsors. There is a lot of work that needs to be done here so that's why it will be a couple of years before anything will happen. Like I said this may never happen if all the stars for line up.

Well I see f40bigedliteinndirthound, gave my post a rating of Dumb but, if he thinks something like this won't happen I want to remind him it could. Especially all the players involved. He might be right it may never happen because, it's going to take a lot of money to make it happen the way it's been spelled out. These guys know if they want to make this happen and for it to be successful they have to do it right because more then likely they won't get a second chance. Some of them have been at this game a long time. They have said if they can't get the proper backing they won't do it. Like I said I don't see this happening for a couple of years. It's going to take the next 11/2 to get the funding, to get the rules in place, to hire the proper people to mange the business, hire the proper people to be officials.

In the ideal situation yes you would have multiple tracks in on this. But ump has had such a strangle hold on this area for so long, i just dont see more than a couple tracks taking the gamble for fear of losing bigger than they already do. Honestly i think its gonna take one or two tracks to do.it successfully without ump for a few years, to prove to everyone else it can be done and somewhat profitable.

But your post suggests there are already deals in the works. So im curious as to whats going on now. Care to enlighten?

why the gamble and who would be the sanction if the track leaves , this oughta be good

No sanction just an independent owner or promoter that wants to do things differently. And its a huge gamble. Leave ump and you burn a big bridge. Youll then have to have a huge payout to draw the same cars. No more outlaw sprints no more summer nationals. No more of the regional stars the fans pay extra to see. Pull out of ump and everything tied to WRG goes with it. Seems like a huge gamble to me. But the right gamble for the right person. Fortune favors the bold.

Exactly , tri city ,i,55 and highland are doing ok for car count but not fans you need more.butts.in.the seats there is the big.problem

your also talking about a city that has population of 319,294 with a lot of outlying areas to support the tracks..... and from what I hear the tracks talking about dropping ump have major sponsorship in place from a different Tire Manufacturer ..(Not Hoosier) and a very similar and fair Rules in place... with Tech Procedures in place
