I think if there were any drivers from other tracks coming and saying mel if you do this we will run here every week. You would have seen more things on the table. As it was the only one I saw show up from anywhere else was Jeff Le Beube and he did his best to change things. One person wasn't enough.

Heard all Mel was going to change was the a-frames. If so big deal. Good luck :rolleyes:
I HEARD THIS ALSO FROM SOMEONE WHO TALKED TO MEL AT THE GODFREY MEETING. MEL TELLING PEOPLE THIS MAY HAVE KEPT SOME FROM ATTENDING. NOT TO MENTION SOME MAY HAVE BEEN OUT OF TOWN FOR THE HOLIDAY WEEKEND??

I THINK THIS MAY BE THE CAR IN QUESTION. THIS IS HOW IT LOOKED WHEN IT LEFT MY GARAGE. RESERECTED FROM THE DEAD!!!!!!

Certain things make me laugh... I guess I take this stuff way to serious...

Like.

Not allowing the B-Mods to run an adjustable metering plate. Thats funny to me. I think Willy's is the only company that makes one. They will be the first to tell you this is not a prodect that gives a racer an advantage. (618-262-8021) This product does not make you any faster. It only allows you to play with your jetting without spilling fuel everywhere. I guess we are all to rushed to take the four bolts out of the bowl to change jets so the metering block would be to much of an advantage. Maybe we should try to run without metering blocks....

Street Stocks,

I just don't understand putting a back on the car. It looks bad. It collects mud. It is one more thing the driver has to clean, repair and worry about every week. Why.....

Too bad the B-mods will not be running spoilers. It would be a marginal performance improvement and it would be easy to remove if you run other tracks, but would allow the people in the stands to tell the differnence between the A's and B's. Right now, it just looks like a never-ending series of modified heat races to alot of fans.

I think the guys crying about hard tires for the rear of the bmods should stop and think about something if you cant afford to race with the big dogs stay on the porch mel dont realize that he just lost 3-4 cars out of the top ten in points by going to this tire rule Im going to a mod because bmod will be a dying class at this track once everyone figures out how hard it is to keep your car set up on hard tires if you want to save money complain about there flagman start throwing some black flags and lay down some suspensions for rough driving that would save us alot of money.

Well see as how just a tire change is making you go to the a-mods maybe since you appear to have the money to buy tires. You were just afraid to run with the big dogs yourself. I wish you the best of luck because just having money to dump into a race car will not make you fast enough to run with the big boys.

IMCA mods manage to hook up with those hockey pucks they have to race on. If all of the teams in the B-mods could afford a new tire or two a week, they would probably throw on a big carb and run with the A-mods. If you have not noticed, there are a lot of tracks closing because people cannot afford to race anymore and are "sitting on the porch". B-mods where meant to be a lower cost class.

alot of the guys complaning of tires are the same guys buying 12,000 dollar hovis engines and if you have ever been to an imca track to watch modifieds they arent very impressive. I finished in the top 5 in points last year so i think i am a big enough dog to run with anyone and I have three kids and dont make alot of money I just know how to build my engines and set up my cars all i was saying is that I dont agree with some of the reasons the rule was put into affect for.

If guys couldnt afford tires last year why did we average 23 cars a night for the entire season and street stocks , amod s and late models could only get 10 to 15 cars a night .

Mike, I think you should stay right where your at, where you have a chance to win. There will be some really competitive racing out there in the B's. I will be there going for the points and look forward to racing you.

The way I see it there are more positives to this change, one of which is taking away some of the advatage of the $12k motors. I'm not questioning your skill as a driver or in setting up your car, but a class that that is meant as a lower cost alternative to the full UMP mods should not run up a huge tire bill. There are a lot of non-IMCA tracks all over the region that use the American Racer tires to save money and still put on a good show. The UMP mod and latemodel count is down because people cannot afford to be competive so they moved to a lower class or have given up racing. This is the same thing that will happen with the B-mods if changes are not made to keep things under control.

Hey Mike, I have been to several IMCA Mod races, and they are always good races. As far as being a big dog.........????? How many track championships do you have? How many feature wins do you have? The only guy thats whining is you. You say you know how to set up your car, so whats the problem. You should have no problem, and should be winning races and the Championship next year. Granted you had a decent year. At Montgomerey just showing up every weekend makes a major difference in points. Qualifying fastest one night, and winning 1 or 2 heat races does not qualify you as being a big dog. Hopefully your head shrinks down to normal size before the season starts. But who cares you will be in a A-Mod dominating that class. See ya next year Big Dog (wannabe)...............

I believe I went to an IMCA track EVERY SINGLE weekend last year (and for the past several years) and saw some VERY IMPRESSIVE racing. Guess you just didn't go to the right tracks. Come to SFCR one night and watch their modifieds.........with the likes of Billy Smith, Kenny Kennedy, Brent Thompson, Jeremy Greenwalt, Mike Francis, Tim Hill, etc. I GUARANTEE you they ARE impressive. Maybe you aren't an IMCA kinda guy but don't go knocking those that are. Ever been to the Dirt Works World Modified Championship????? Ever even heard of it?

thank you cc28 for your words of encouragment I enjoyed racing with you and will be racing someone elses bmod this year. I am sorry if I knocked on the imca guys but that was not the way i meant it to be. I am just upset about the rule change just like the guys last year were upset about the tires they had to buy. as far as fj6 road runner if you were a fellow racer and new what you were talking about I would understand but how many championships do you have. where did you finish for the year winning races dont win championships being consistant wins races 6 top 3's out of the last 6 races does like i did so dont knock my racing sorry if i ticked anyone off.

Your probably thinking of Parmenter, I didn't race at all last year. But I bought Gary Olivers car to run as a B- mod and I have my Fastboys to run A's on sunday and whenever else. But like I said, you were fast last year and I would like to race you, why would you cheat yourself when you know that you can run up front, trust me the A mods are like wild beasts with that extra 150 horse. If you want to run A's, then come with me to TCS on sundays, tackiest track anywhere around. Corey Carriker #C28

Well Mike I am a fellow racer and raced with you on many nights. I don't have any championships, but I am not on here calling myself a Big dog. Why are you stooping so low as to run with us B-Mods (the dying class) Thought you were going to A-Mod...........

I just talked to Mel and he said that the B-mod rules would be out as promised and the street stock rules would be delayed until @ Monday. WELL SEE WHAT HAPPENS...
