Rousch Crying About Toyota's

If you love the Toyota, thats fine, but this old archaic guy has been driving a Chevy or Ford forever and that ain't gonna change.(To each his own)

No problem there Donnie D. I own both a Ford and a Honda, (which was built in California by the way). Love them both! Never really been a big Toyota fan. Just defending the right to choose. You're not archaic if you live and let live and let live. That's the American way.

please, no, todd.. dont stop buying clothes!!! thats just not a good visual, at all. the televisions and radios we all listen to/watch nascar on sundays, i can guarantee you didnt come from american hands. this debate can go on and on. i can almost guarantee you that nascar wont let the sunday races become a toyota parade. as i say that, i seem to recall that the top 3 or 4 trucks are toyotas.('06 final standings). so i guess im wrong already.o well. so, todd, find a trophy girl yet? or just another but t of the week? haahaaahaaahaaahaa.

As one certain Cup driver puts it,Toyota is just as American as Ford or Chevy..
You should be ashamed of yourself!!!! Though I agree that it is a good thing some of the OTHER auto makers are building their cars and trucks here in the states lets keep one thing in mind!! THEY DO NOT HELP OUR ECONOMY
, Yes they help the local eco around the plants but the bulk of the profit is helping Japans economy! NOT OURS!! YOUR IDIOTIC WAYS OF THINKING have cost me a good job with an AMERICAN automaker, so you can take your toyota and shove it up your *****!! Oh yeah! and the cup driver said the bodies are about the same on the race cars stupid!! Thanks and have a great day!

Sorry, but stop blaming the forign company's for everything. The US Auto makers and the UAW are the only reason you lost your job.

Jack Isnt Crying He Is Speaking His Mind

I agree with Jack NASCAR stands for NASIONAL ASSOCIATION OF STOCK CAR ANNUAL RACING it is not international. toyoda should not be able to run nascar. Besides that he has nothing to worry about because ford will outrun toyoda anyday.

OK since evryone is on the band wagon about foreign cars and their parts,,,here's one for you.....In town here their is a mechanic who works for a local Chevy dealer. He had a 2005 Chevy truck in for brake problems,,,when he took the front rotors off he noticed the wheel brgs. were made in Japan,,yes JAPAN. Now,,are we going to boycott General Motors?

yes we boycott gm

There is a reason that the only vehicle i will drive is FORD. because i have never seen a forain part on a ford. but do u get wat i mean about toyoda being aloud to run because NASCAR is national it is not international. Euopean races dont let ford dodge or chevy race there, and neither do any other countries

From TMCnet
US car maker Ford to revamp Mexican plants

US Ford announced that will invest in the modernization of its assembly and front end operation in Mexico, as a part of its "Way Forward Plan" for North America.

The company also said that its facility in Hermosillo City will produce a hybrid version of Ford Fusion and Mercury Milan models, as from 2008.

Ford declared that Mexico will continue to be as a key manufacturing location for its global automobile operations.

Sorry, but no one including Ford is 100% American anymore. If you feel that making statements like you have make you more patriotic, more power to you. But your perceived reality is just that...perceived. I'm not saying I necessarily like the way things are, but it is what it is.

This thread is killing me. Our country is mortgaged to the gills with China being the main lein holder. Other foreign countries are investing in the US as well, by buying our debt. Do you honestly think that buying a so called "american made" car makes a hilll of beans difference. The money that Ford will have to borrow will be "foreign money" anyway.

Whats worse is that our elected officials (both Dem and Rep) are allowing mfg jobs to be sent out of the country left and right. It wont be long until the US will become a "service only" country. Their will be no mfging done inside our borders if things continue as they are.

I'll bet you that you couldn't properly disassemble any ford, or chevy without a metric tool.

Heres a hint, look at the starter on your ford.

I work for DaimlerChrysler, and used to be buy American and all that. Back when it was Chrysler Corp. But like someone said earlier, I can't really say that now since we are majority foreign owned. But after working there for 11 years, its plain the companies talk all that only when it benefits them. But they all are buddied up with a foreign counterpart. Ford/Mazda, Chevy/Toyota, Chrysler/Mitsubishi ect..ect...

Nothing wrong with being a proud American. But avoiding anything foriegn made isn't practical these days. Yes, when it comes to vehicles its easy to but even the trucks we build have parts made outside the USA. So they way I see it, you earn your money spend it how you wish. We'll deal with where it takes us. I feel our government Should have done things diferent when it came to imports and exports long ago.

Why such hatred and name calling? Grow up!

I wasn't aware that the US is/had switched from Standard to Metric. Must have missed that memo. When did this happen Campbel82? However, I am aware that the starter on my 2006 Ford 500 has a made in Mexico sticker on it. I know this because i changed the oil earlier this afternoon and saw it with my own eyes. BTW (that means "by the way" campbell82) I used a 3/4" wrench to loosen the drainplug.

Its people like you getting on here and running your mouth (when you have no idea what you are talking about) that make the rest of us want to never log on again. Perhaps you should go have that litre of crack-resin drained off your brain....dude!

You need a major reality check. Even when the evidence is put right in front of your face, you still can't see it.

I 2nd that. If cars were made with just american stuff and we had the cahoonas to tell the other countries we are american and will use american standard sizes..never would have to buy a metric tool in your life. But we have let the foreign companies(who do you think made the first metric bolts..nuts..ect used over here?? wasnt the usa)run over us and we have had to adapt to THEIR standard of measurement. Wasnt a popular idea amoung mechanics..i tell you. You have to have metric tools..metric tap and dies..torx bits..which was a foreign idea also. Just adds the cost to mechanics and anyone involved with vehicle service. Our goverment was the one who pushed this...and we just had to follow and adapt. So..dont fight foreign..its a loosing battle. Just conform and be happy you have things to buy because if you banked on just buying american made stuff...you may have troubles getting some stuff..and at a decent price.

So who's the idiot now?

I am going to say something and excuse me if it has been brought up already, I did not read all 4 pages of this post, but Mazda, which some still consider a foreign car is owned by Ford. Actually the Ford Escape and Mazda Tribute are made on the same line. The only difference, the Tribute has more of a rounded front end then the Escape and then the tail lights are a little different also, but the point is that even with Mazda a part of Ford, some still consider Mazda a foreign car...............
