Smooth move Joey

We Quit Racing At Sfcr Ten Years Ago Because Of This Type Of Favoritism, And Stopped Coming To Watch Two Years Ago For The Same Reason. Thought We Might Come See Some Good Racing At A Special Event, But It Is The Same Old Favoritism!
We Will Stick To I-55 And Montgomery County From Now On!

this was taken directly from the 2005 rules on sfcr.net

Except for Joey. Joey has an rule book just for him

Well, seems to me the fans have spoken and it's ALMOST unanimous whether it's a safety issue, an issue on ethical driving, or favoritism (or whatever else I've missed). Now is something going to be done????

u know joey may not have hurt jimmy doin that...but he sure could have!!!for all anybody knows he could have been trying to send jimmy into the fence!!!...its all getting so stupid at farmington with some of the calls being made...theyre starting to show FAVORITISM like most of the other tracks around!!!...and as far as worley goes, i'm not a fan of his but ive never saw him go after somebody after the checkers have flown like that!!!....jimmy didnt deserve what he got, glad he kept his cool after getting pushed around and didnt try something stupid!....everybodys sayin it was such a dirty pass...i dont think it was personally and to add to that...how many drivers have NEVER made a dirty pass???JOEY even though hes a good driver has before!!!...it may not have been the best pass but it got around ppl and he didnt hit anybody!!!i just dont think joey liked not advancing to the a and having to run the b...they SHOULD have made him start last in the c though!

What Joey did saturday night was wrong and he should of been blacked flagged but since it was Joey he wasnt If he dont win or if someone makes a good move and passes him he gets mad thats very childish. Jimmy should have put him to the wall. But Jimmy is a awsome driver and a awsome person so he wouldnt do that. The way i see it is Joey will get his. One of these nights someone is gonna get tired of the favortisism and show Joey its gonna stop. I hope im there to see it. Someone better than Joey will show and make Joey eat dust. All in good time. We go every weekend and want to see a good clean race. We have our favorites like anyone . We know alot of people that go and we all are getting tired of the bs that goes on there with Joey and others Why pay our hard earned money if we already know who is gonna win. Some people would say dont go but we like the races when its fair. I thought it was sfcr not Joeys raceway. Great job Timmy congrats nice clean racing

thats just it Joey didnt run in the b or c main so how could he run in the A main? Dont think he should of raced at all but since he did he should of been put at the back (favortisism)

thats true sprintcarfandeb...if he couldnt handle the heat races how do they expect him to handle the bigger races where theres more on the line???

well joey might of done this to jimmy, but what about what WORLEY has done to many drivers?????????? WORLEY has injuired alot of drivers but he never has been in the wrong...thank about this:did joey ever hurt anyone H*** NO!!!! a little shove down the straight away was nothing conpared to tommy's D*** tricks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I LIKE JIMMY HURLEY HE'S A D*** GOOD RACER AND I'M NOT ON HERE TRASHING HIM AND NEVER WILL....SEE YA ALL NEXT YEAR WHAT A GREAT 2005 YEAR AND HOPEFULLY A BETTER 2006 YEAR!!!!!:D

Here's What I Don't Understand, Everyone Says Worley Was In The Wrong, And Hurley Basically Did The Same Thing, Then Why Did Everybody Inthe Stands Cheer When Hurley Did It? The Crowd Went Nuts. It Is Simple If Anyone Did That Move To Joey They Would Cheer, If Two Totally Different Car Were Involoved A Couple People Might Say Something. But If Joey Would Have Done That To Hurley Or Someone Else He Would Be Considered The Dirtiest Driver Out There And Everyone Would Want Him To Be Black Flagged.

I Don't Think Joey's Actions Were Right After The Race, But No Matter What Weekend It Will Be Someone Will Still Find A Reason To B***ch About Joey!

I was sitting in turn 1 and Jimmy did do a "Worley type" pass on Joey. Jimmy slid up into Joey and knocked him up the track. If you look at the photo of the pass you can see Joey's car looking like it is pushing and that was b/c Jimmy hit him. Now with that being said I like that kind of racing as long as its not an every weekend thing like "Worley Style". Jimmy doesn't do that kind of thing every week. This goes to shows that when the money is on the line he will take the risk and I like that, but if you pass someone like that you better be ready to defend yourself. Joey trying to run Jimmy in to the front strech wall was a little too much, but I did like the pushing down the back strech. Lets face it a little drama make things alot more entertaining than just watching cars go in clean neat and conforming circles. Pushing and fighting are part of dirt track racing. If fan doesn't want to see action they can always go to a drag race. I don't know how many times Joey has been warned by the track for that kind of thing but he didn't tear up Jimmy's car so no harm no foul in my book but hey thats just my oppion.

Xbrave you are an idiot and your opinion is stupid. How does a car look like it is pushing? It either is pushing up the track or it is not. Joey was up off the bottom of the track by about 8 feet and come down when the 35 was right there. They did not touch so if you have the pic to prove it then I would love to see it. If you want a little drama on the track(like crashing) go to a f-ing demo derby were those guys will beat and bang all night for your enjoyment. You obviously don't want to watch sprint cars and you don't know what a good sprint race is. A good sprint race is slide job after slide job, you give it and take it. Grab a little brake and drive underneath that guy. That is good, clean racing.

All the trashing of Joey is brought upon himself. Jimmy didn't tear his car up(Joey's) but Joey was trying to tear his up. Like I said in the first post, bump him and pull up next to him with your arms out. We've all seen that a million times! If he would of done that there wouldn't be the reaction that we have now. Sometimes I think that Joey wants this image of being the little brat. Kind of like the WWF. However this is real! Guys have alot of money in thier cars plus thier lives. They don't need someone after the race trying to tear thier stuff up. I really hope he learns from this. He can drive, but he's holding himself back from possibly going somewhere with all the side stuff.

The track owes the fans an apology.

We sit every weekend in the stands to watch our drivers in all classes do their best, and in that being said, people will get mad. But what happend this past weekend was very uncalled for. Joey was wrong in what he did, hot head or not. When the track did not black flag Joey for what he did, it made the track look very incompitant. I can remember a couple of races earlier this year when the black flag was flown more often then the green for a simple bump. Racing should be fair but with no actions taken after what happend Saturday I know it is not. There were SEVERAL out-of-towners sitting around us in the stands and to here them talk trash about how the track was being ran on Saturday was very embarassing. If people did not show back up next year, who could blame them. Another thing I noticed, as well as many others, is the cautions. No one likes to see that yellow flag go up but if they are not throw the yellow more quickley then someone is going to get hurt. When a driver spins out in turn 3, you don't wait unitl turn 2 to throw the yellow. I do hope thr track owner does see the wrong in Saturday and admit to it. Maybe if he does then he will have more races with all the fans that were there Saturday.

I wont put down any drivers but I totally agree with axeman. That was a VERY clean pass and thats how real racing happens when one driver slightly goofs and the other takes over. Thats what most fans hope to see is GOOD RACING of course without the attitude that Joey presented because he got mad. Joey is a good driver but he should chill out and learn not to be such a poor sport/sore loser.... It was respectful of Hurley not to display that attitude also....

Since a bunch of you wanna talk about what the 86 car did, Maybe it's time some of the idiot locals got pay back by someone who takes the rule book and throws it out the window. If a couple dumb stunts were paid back in full by someone that just doesnt care then maybe some of the locals would think twice about junkin' other peoples stuff!

seedracin you are the idiot I was sitting right there and seen Jimmy slide up into Joey and yes his car did take a big push after Jimmy hit him. I am not a Joey fan and never will be I am a Timmy and Short fan so don't think I am on here takin up for Joey. I have you know I go to sprint car races all over the country including Eldora and Knoxville so you telling me I don't want to see sprint car racing is very bad guess. SFCR is some of the best racing I have ever seen b/c of the bumping and tire rubbing that goes on there. I love slide job after slide job and if I wanted to see that I would go to Haubstat sp? or Eldora. SFCR's track layout just seems to cause this kind of racing and I like that everyonce in a while. SFCR has some guys who can pass with out hitting other people and some who can't. Jason K. even got mad at Jarrod Hull Sat night and we all know Jarrod Hull would not wreck anyone on purp. I have very good friends who have sprint cars who won't run at SFCR because of the bumping and tire rubbing that goes on there. If you look at the guys who race there every weekend most of them have ugly pieced together cars b/c of that. Infact that is why Timmy has not painted his car in two years going on three now. SFCR is like the Bristol of sprint car racing to me and bumping tire rubbing and people getting mad is what I like about SFCR, not saying it is right or wrong just what I pay my money to see. I expect to see high speeds and slide jobs at I55 and I get that sometimes alot of times its rubber down and boring but I will be there the next time the sprints push off because that is the way the track is. I don't like the way the 97 races but you know I would miss him if he were not there b/c you never know who he is going to hit next. It would be nice to see everyone race like Timmy but not everyone can. I have seen sprints run at 29 diffrent tracks wing /non wing and every track is diffrent SFCR is just a contact track weather you like it or not always has been always will be. Yes I like to see a good crash everyonce in a while as long as no one gets hurt b/c it lets you see just how dangerours and fast these cars really are. Maybe Joey should have been warned /punished what ever but when you get slid into like that you have to let people know you won't put up with it with out a fight. I have seen Steve Kinser do something like Joey did several times very recently at I55 and everyone booed the guy who hit him not Steve running into him after the checkers. It seems everyones gripe is favristism ( d*&n I can't spell) and I can not comment on that b/c I don't go to SFCR every weekend. So speedracin if you don't like drama you are going to the wrong track maybe you need to take up drag racing or go to Eldora b/c SFCR is like a demo durby at 100 mph and watching Timmy slice through the pack with out hitting anyone while there is carnage all around him is what I call great SFCR action.

WAY TO GOOOOO SPEEDRACIN...U GO stand your grounds!!!! I can't wait for next years racing,( JOEY& TIMMY ARE THE BEST) congradulations Joey on track champion i knew you could do it

If you look at the photo of the pass you can see Joey's car

xbrave I would love to see this pic you are talking about b/c he did not touch him. Joey was off the bottom of the track and hurley drove into the corner a lot harder than joey and made a clean pass. Joey was mad that hurley flew by him and couldn't catch him. As for beatin and bangin, a little bangin is ok but remember these are openwheel cars and don't take much for them to get upside down. These cars cost too much money to come out and have an idiot(JOEY) try to wreck someone, especially after the race. Slide jobs is what sprint car racing is all about, not crashing. You know how to do a good slide job if the guy you slide has to grab brake, that is a good slide. As for timmy not painting his car, there must be another reason b/c I couldn't tell you when the last time was that he came in contact with another car. He is one hell of a driver and when he gets beat he will tell everyone that he just plain got his ***** whooped. It is just a shame that a nice guy like timmy came from the same hole as joey.

Now that's what I'm talking about Speedracin! I agree with you 100%. Hurley's move was very gutsy. I leaned back and said to myself "oh god here we go" thinking that there was going to be a big crash. But Jimmy made it stick and the rest we all know about. If Joey would just take a page out of his brothers book about how to handle yourself on and off the track he would be so much better off. Weather it's shoving someone down the track after the race or yelling at the fans during a feature win interview it's always something. Like I said before it's not Joey winning alot why people don't like him, it's Joey being Joey.
