Tony Stewart needs to go!!!

I agree they need to ban Tony,,Why does TONY run like a baby when he is asked for a interview??? I hope that Home depot tells him to take a hike, last year they warned him,, but I see warning does nothing to him. so they should take action and so should nascar.

The one thing that none of us knows is how difficult the car was to keep down off the corners. I highly doubt that any of the contact was intentional, or that he was deliberately trying to "take somebody out" as some of you seem to think. I am pretty sure he knows that if he causes a huge crash at those speeds, he is most certainly going to be involved in it too. So that theory doesnt make sense.

Tony trying to run as fast as he can, in a car with an evil push in it would certainly account for running wide off the corners. Being a little overzealous in a bad handling car does not make him a dirty driver, nor does it mean he should be thrown out. I dont even think NASCAR talked to him at all after the race, and they watched the whole thing.

Rusty was right about one thing, and one thing only; flipping the bird at another driver all the way down the backstraight was not appropriate. Other than that, I will say again that Rusty and all the Stewart haters just need to get over it.

Almost every driver out there has gone through this at one time or another. A couple of bumps and they are blaming you for everything. Tony has been aggressive, but I would rather have a driver like that than someone who is scared to take it to the front.By the way,if you are going to ban Tony,go ahead and ban Jr. Rusty,Harvick,Gordon,Gordon, and a host of others who have gone through this same scenario in the past.

Tony does the same stuff regardless of where and what he races. I saw him flip off Danny Haynes several times last year at I-55.

He gave lots of cash to Kyle Pettys Victory Gang Camp so I try to find reasons to root for him but its getting tougher.

The only reason tony looks worse than any of the other drivers is because the media shows him so much. im sure all the other drivers hit and bang on other drivers, but they only show it when Tony does it... I enjoy watching tony.. hes not my favorite, but he makes it exciting.

T.nie, was it tight in the corners last week when he made a complete left turn AFTER THE RACE and took the entire front end off of Terry Labonte's car????? I never did hear what excuse he gave for that one. Besides, if your car is that tight or having those kinds of problems you don't throw it into those situations continuously. Once or twice maybe, but 10 to 12 times --- NO WAY...... I hope Rusty knocks the hell out of him.

Tony is Tony. This isn't new. He goes through these things every year. At some point he is going to get mad and get into it with the media or other drivers. He has a hard time with his temper. Up to this point, it's been pretty much offtrack media stuff. Now it spilling over to the track and other drivers will only put up with so much. It seems he is losing support from his peers. It's one thing to make a fellow driver mad occassionlly. Big E got by with it for years. But Tony has been doing it to several guys every week. It's catching up with him. What he does off the track is his own problem. What he does on the track becomes a problem for others. Now that Rusty has spoken out, I expect other respected veterans try to show him the light. He's too good of a driver to put himself in this situation. If nothing else, I expect Coach Joe Gibbs to step in and calm him down. No one is more respected than Coach Gibbs and it has to bother him for his race team to continually have these problems.

For the most part all anyone hears anywhere about Rusty Wallace or Tony Stewart is some type of bashing. When Rusty was still winning and running up front alot, he got all the negitive press and bashing that Stewart gets now. Stewart does enough on his own to create some of the problems, but very often someone else causes a wreck and the poor excuses for announcer DW and Macrenolds start blaming him for every wreck within a straitaway of him. He does create some problems on his own, but those two need to go, they blame him for anything. While were on Nascar, they need to gag Kasey Kane, he runs his mouth every time they put a mic in front of it, one week its bashing the 42, the next its the 20, another its somebody else, he needs to look at the tape before he talks so much; but after all he is another of the broadcast teams darlings, and his name is all you hear all day. I am no Jeff Gordon fan in any way, but at least he didn't get help from Nascar to win this one he, earned it, unlike Taladega.

Sorry but I have to agree~~ Tony needs to go!! He is a jerk on and off the track. Some may call it racing but this has been going on to long where tony is concerned and it needs to stop. If this happend to any of you every race where some hot head driver kept taking you out you wouldnt be happy either. I use to be a Stewart fan but after the past couple of years I have not been a fan at all. Racing is one thing but going out there and purposly taking drivers out is not racing. How he has managed to keep sponsors and fans Ill never know.

T Stew is my hero! He is not a jerk off the track. He doesn't like a mic in his face right after racing...give him a few and then he is fine. NASCAR needs a "badboy" image and so they portray Tony as "wreckless" and "unruly." That is just a bunch of PR bunk. But, unlike some of these other corporate cookie-cutters...Tony races like its Saturday Night on Sunday!

Tony Stewart is a puke. It looks like Stevie Wonder is in his car. I can't think of any reason whatsoever to pull for him. I hear his fans say things like "He has won in every kind of car he's been in." Who cares! I can't believe people actually root for him just because he's won a bunch of races. These are probably the same people who like the Lakers and the Yankees. Whatever happened to picking a favorite driver because he or she is a model of what you admire most in other people. I'm not claiming that the guy can't drive, he's proven that he can. But the rest of the package is damaged goods. So if you resemble a crossing guard because you are wearing some hideous orange Home Depot t-shirt right now, then I guess you look for the following attributes in a favorite driver: bad temper/rage issues, blatant disrespect for your fellow competitors, inability to accept blame, immaturity, ifantile egotism, zero class, etc...In the last 3 races alone he has slammed Ryan Newman and Rusty at Martinsville, caused an 11-car pileup at Talladega, then trys to skip the cooldown lap and goes the wrong way down pit road thus slamming into T.Labonte, and to ice things he shoved Rusty into the backstretch wall yesterday BEFORE (yes, before) they made contact on the frontstretch. Then Stewart gives Rusty the bird under caution and proceeds to slam Jeffy Boy, and Ricky Rudd before the race is over. He's quite a busy guy. Joe Gibbs must be thrilled right about now. He thought he was gonna coach a little and get back to what he loves, but I guess he needs to stay at the track and babysit his driver. Nascar has pi**ed in their lunchbox once again. I'm not sure they are aware of it but one of those flags up in the stand is black, they might want to consider waving it here and there. Oh, I forgot it's only for when someone speeds on pitroad. They keep slapping his wrist and verbally warning him. Give me a break. I don't want to see anyone get hurt, but I hope he gets taken out at Richmond. It's pretty bad when Casey Kahne, a rookie, starts bi**hing about how you drive. Rusty has a right to want to beat Stewart's *** because he has cost him about 300 points in the last two races. For all you so called racefans who are bashing Rusty, I guess you don't value a racers racer. You obviously don't like him because if you did, you'd be aware of when he is in town and wouldn't be crying about it on this forum. You are misinformed: Two years ago he tested at Gateway in the fall. He again held an open test at Gateway's Fan Appreciation Night last Sept. and then stayed to sign autographs for every single person there. His crew and car were accessable to all. He's going to be at Fox HS on Thurs., Mills Mall Fri., and then he'll be at Gateway to oversee Billy Parker's team on Sat. night. Are you pissed because he's not coming to your house to BBQ? Go lay down.

That's not true about either love him or hate him.... It is a FACT he has hit everything that moved out on the track. In reference to a famous movie, "All right I want you to go out now and hit the pace car because that is the ONLY thing you haven't hit."

I am surprised at you Jeff. I thought that as a journalist you would be above sensationalism. He didn't hit every car in the field, just the ones that were close to him....... :p :D :D

Oh.. and Millsey, your quote, "All right I want you to go out now and hit the pace car because that is the ONLY thing you haven't hit," isnt true... He has hit the pace car.. but good try!

Sorry Todd I don't agree. He's a professional driver, and if he had ANY respect at all for his fellow drivers he wouldn't take an ill-handling race-car to the limit like he was yesterday. Tony seems to suffer from a major attitude problem, and pretty much acts like a spoiled rotten little kid when he's having an off day. His excuse for hitting Gordon was laughable. "I didn't know he was there"... yeah right. They just got done racing side by side through the turn, what did he think Gordon vaporized? He's out of control right now and NASCAR needs to step up to the plate. I would bet money that somebody will take care of it on the track if they don't. And I don't dislike Tony either. I've always liked his open-wheel background and admired his talent. I've met him 3 times and he was always nice. The year he broke his ankle and couldn't race at Tri-City, he came out to the middle in a golf cart with a cooler full of beer, watched the races, shot the bull with the track officials and did an improptu interview. But those must have been better times.........And PLEASE don't even try to compare his "bad boy" image to Dale Sr. If there is one thing Earnhardt Sr. had that Tony doesn't, it's the respect of his fellow competitors. And I NEVER saw THE MAN pout and act like a 2 year old. JMO :D

hey kreke13, i remember that, :D :D :D danny was laughing about it. tony tried a slide job on danny coming out of 2 and danny just showed him he didnt appreciate it :D then tony told him he is #1 lol, good thing for ol smoke danny is such a nice guy.
