Tri City Question

I have no stake in this matter what-so-ever but yesterday at BC testing, Stan Schantner took the microphone and boasted that Belle-Clair was the only UMP sanctioned track running on Fridays. Sounds like he knows something.

Thats encouraging, I have no stake in this issue either other than just the issue of whats right and whats wrong.

Revin, Tammy or whoever uses that screen name has stated that they were misled by UMP about keeping their sancition, but regardless of that, their decision to switch their program to a night that would directly impact another established race track reflects a very self centered and micro view of the local racing community.

To add insult to injury, Belleville dropped their policy of makeups on Sunday's in consideration of Tri-City who ran it's regular program on Sunday's, what a pay back for being considerate. I'm sure other tracks will be very cautious in the future.

All of us diehard race fans hate to lose the Sunday racing there. 3 nights a week of racing was great for us.

But lets face reality, from the first Sunday race they ran all the way up to the end of last season, there was never a decent crowd there on Sundays except for the occassional special event that would draw well.

They drew a decent car count on Sundays, but the stands were always dead on regular nights. I swear on many nights, while standing on the infield, I could literally count the people in the stands and a few times it didn't surpass double digits.

And . . . . you honestly don't think there may be other reasons for this rather than the night of the week. Geesh!

Godfrey was certainly drawing as many cars & fans as Belle-Clair. The track promoter was not the track owner.. The track owner saw $$$ signs and sold it.

Godfrey was on the market for a long time. If it were a profitable race track SOMEONE would have bought it for that.

MAYBE I WAS WRONG?:eek:

THERE WAS AN AGREEMENT TO ALLOW TCS TO BE UMP FOR A COUPLE WEEKS ON A TRIAL BASIS. TO SEE WHAT EFFECTS IT MAY OR MAY NOT HAVE ON BELLEVILLE. BUT THEN FROM WHAT I HEARD YESTERDAY, THATS BEEN TAKEN OFF THE TABLE.

JUST WHAT I HEARD, BUT BECAUSE OF WHO I HEARD IT FROM, I BELIEVE IT.

the thing about belleville not running on sundays was one reason that I thought tri city did not deserve ump on fridays belleville could have kept their points chasers and hurt tri citys car count on sundays...

I guess the Revin's forgot about that.

You people are all so mean!! Gordon,Tammy & Mrs.Kevin Gundaker, are absolutely the greatest people on planet earth.!!!!:) Im sure they are just going to step right up and help belleville out. They understand the track might be in trouble and they are all about the racing community and that is the truth!!! I bet Kevin has already asked what he could do to help! I bet he has probably even offered to let all Belle-claire fans park their cars at TCS since parking may be a problem there when all the sportsman cars he ran off show up there. He has probably even offered to develop a shuttle service. Maybe Gordon has even offered to let cars park on his ground near the track. That's the kinda guy he is. I feel TCS should be UMP because they have a lot of money. Rules, contracts all that stupid crap don't mean a thing when you have a rich daddy. I hope the stands are full to the brim every Friday since Jimmy seems to think changing nights is going to make all the difference. All of the real TCS fans - stay strong - bring your money and have a good season. I can't wait to see Tri City in action. I will be there rain or shine.
open or closed every friday night in 2007. I have been trying to come up with a slogan for Tam & KEV & Big Daddy Gordy so here it is.

{T.C.S. IS THE BEST IF WE CANT BEAT'EM WE'LL BUY THE REST}

P.S. Gordy let me know your size and youll get the first shirt then every one else.
