Tri City Question

I choose to remain anonymous, it affords me the freedom to preserve my integrity by not being beholding to anyone and call a spade a spade when needed.

You should of taken that approach Jimmy before you threw away all your crediability.

In order to Improve a facility you need to spend the money. If prices remain the same from General Admission, Food, Pit Passes etc the money the promoter is putting out is coming out of their pocket not the Drivers or Fans.

The whole idea to keep facilities open is to make improvements and put money back in them.

We are very proud of Tri-City and the Driver's, Teams and Fans that pull in will be proud to say they go to Tri-City.

Business decision's are made everyday some people will be for them and some not, but in order to be a successful Promoter you need to keep the sport affordable for the Driver and run the classes you feel can do this.

Their was nothing deliberate done to a one particular class. The sportsmans were a great class and we had great support. The change for classes for 2007 was based on several decisions. These are all Business decisions to move forward with the changes in racing.

I can't believe some people are critical because your spending money to make improvements. To keep racing going you have to care about the Drivers, Fans, Sponsors and your Facility. As long as improvements are not costing the Driver's & Fans more money with increases at the Gates or Concession, why be criticial.

We happen to love racing and will make Tri-City a great place to race and go.

You all know that tricity had to do what they had to do to keep from closing down themselves. You all want whats best for everyone, Look at if from a business point of view like kevin and tammy have to do. They did what was best for them and the racing community. They made millions of dollar improvements, for the fans, they reconfigured the track, to make racing better and maybe faster, and they didnt raise the price of addmission, now remember it is from a BUSINESS point that we have to look at this, they have to make money too, if you had a business and lost money each and every week would you keep it going, probably not. I hope that Tri-City speedway is one of the best FRIDAY night tracks in the area, I hope that there is going to be great car counts and that each and every fan that comes to the track enjoys the racing, I look forward to a great year of racing there, I know I will enjoy it, GOOD LUCK KEVIN AND TAMMY. I hope the improvements are the best for you and the best for the racing community.

Well First Things First If You People On Here Think That By Improven Ur Race Track With Out Costing Us The Race Fans More Money And Given Us A Better Place To Watch The Races Is A Bad Thing Then Maybe U Guys Are Not True Race Fans The Main Goal Is To Give The Fans The Best Place To Watch A Race And There Is Not Gonna Be Very Many Better Then Granite If They Can Keep It From Getting Slick All The Time And U Gotta Look At It This Way Go Run The 1/4 At Bell Clair And Risk Tearing Ur **** Up Every Week And Dealing With The Political Stuff With Allied Or Running Bigger Smoother Track With Better Racing And I Think They Should Get Ump And I Hope They Do So Until You Basher On Here Have Owned Promoted Or Ran A Race Track Or Business Then Maybe U Should Keep Ur Comments To Urself So Keep Up The Good Work Kevin And Tammy I Think It Is Great And Its Like They Say If You Build It They Will Come And You Guys Are Building It So They Are Gonna Come.

YA' KNOW I HAVE TO AGREE. MAYBE THE PROBLEM HERE IS MISPLACED ANGER. I AGREE THAT IF I OWNED A TRACK BE IT TCS OR WHATEVER. I WOULD DO WHAT I FELT WAS IN THE BEST INTEREST OF THE TRACK'S GROWTH. IF I THOUGHT MOVING FROM SUNDAY TO FRIDAY WAS FOR THE BEST, I'D DO IT. I'D PROBABLY ASK TO BE UMP ALSO AND SEE IF I COULD GET IT. BUT, I WOULDN'T HAVE SWITCHED FROM SUNDAYS. SO IT WOULDN'T BE AN ISSUE. :D

SO IN SHORT, IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH TCS BEING UMP. THE ANGER SHOULD BE DIRECTED TO UMP NOT TCS. BACK WHEN MEMMER HAD IT, THIS PROBABLY WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN AN ISSUE. BUT SINCE MEMMER LEFT IT IN SUCH "GOOD HANDS" AS IT WAS PUT. YOU KNOW, THE "GOOD HANDS" OF ONE OF STL'S FAVORTITES SONS KENNY SCHRADER, AND THE GANG. THE GOOD HANDS THAT WERE STRETCHED OUT LOOKING FOR THE RIGHT AMOUNT OF BUCKS TO BE PLACED IN THEM. THATS WHEN RACING STARTED GOING TO HELL IN A HAND BASKET. WHEN THE DECISION MAKERS ARE IN IT MORE FOR THE LOVE OF MONEY RATHER THAN THE LOVE OF RACING.

I dont like to post on subjects with such stupid comments but i think this post is almost dead so i will say this thank you to the Gundakers for what they are trying to do . I have only seen pictures of the track but it looks awesome . If the racing is good you wont need UMP . I for one am looking forward to coming to watch and good luck. Roger Stryker

Tammy i have a question for you . Last year when the drivers voted to go Friday nights how many of those yes votes did you get from the sportsmen drivers not knowing their division was going to be dropped ?

I have suggested this before to fix the problem but here goes: Anyone who posts must pay an annual $10 fee. Jimmy could give the proceeds to the charity of his choice. If you do not pay the $10 you can view but not post. That way if someone has several names they are required to pay $10 for each user name. It would do away with most of the b/s posted on here. AK

I'm game...............anything to take care of the problem, something needs to be done,i know Jimmy works a full time gig,and this site is done out of passion for the sport, and he cant be the StL police 24/7 and on this note I would also suggest that the forum have moderators to monitor this site(if none are in place now)to help eliminate the riff raff!!!

SO, you pay the ten dollars to post or just to view or both?

O I C, I went back and re-read Al's post. My bad :)

I would go for that!

also under each user name, the real name as well, because the people who use more than 1 user name, usually have something to hide or someone to hide from!!!! If we want it to be a paid community,we all should know who is who!!!Other wise may as well keep it as is,because I'm sure a basher will pay that extra 10 to 20 bucks just to the user names to bash.....JMO

WOW, I just now seen the post directed at me on the bottom of page 9 all I can say to that rant is: if you have some facts that you are now ready to present please do, so that everyone might gain some insight into the issue.

Kevin or someone using his screen name posted some information on another thread last night, I found it informative but also puzzling, perhaps you could address that as well.

1. Kevin stated that he began to explore the possiability of changing to Friday nights last April after Godfrey closed, and discussed the move with UMP and thought he would be allowed to keep his sancitation after the move to Friday night.

My question is: why would a business junk it's entire program without some official commitment from UMP in advance.

BIG DOLLARS ARE RUINING LOCAL LEVEL RACING! THE BIG CORPS THROW MONEY AROUND AND MAKE IT LOOK GOOD. BUT THEY'RE GETTING DEEPER IN YOUR POCKETS TO GET MORE MONEY AT THE SAME TIME! GREEDY S O B S !

There's no need to hold back. Tell us how you really feel.;) :)

As someone who has been rather clear on this forum about who I am, I couldn't agree more. And starting again next month, I can be found right here after 5:00 on Saturday nights.
