Tri City Question

I can't blame TCS for doing what they see best for their business. But people/fans should not get on here and say how Kevin would never do anything to hurt racing in this area. Thats a load of crap. Kevin does whats best for him and thats fine because its his business.

But don't try to sugar coat his choices and make them out to be something they are not.

The choice to move to Friday nights is to take on Belle Clair and take over the racing scene on Fridays. Its a business decision. It might be a great one, it might back fire or it might not have too much effect on other tracks. Either way, its a direct attack to end another race track in our area.

I'm not so sure moving to Fridays from Sundays will be the best move for his business. TCS will now have to go up against Belleville , Farmer City , and Jacksonville for a car count. As for Sunday nights TCS was the only track running. If the cars wanted to race that was the only choice they had in this area. But not now. Maybe at first because of the new track but let see after awhile if they get even near their Sundays car count that is If Gundaker doesn't close Bell Clair. " Which I believe he's trying to do "

I agree, but I think you are missing the point, nobody cares if Tri-City races on Friday nights, They can run the World of Outlaws every Friday night and that would be fine with everyone, Friday nights is not the issue. UMP is the issue.

And you're issue isn't about UMP or Belleville, you just care about bashing tricity, you've been doing it for quite some time. I don't care for the move, but I don't think Kevin is trying to take out belleville. He's just doing whats best for him and his sponsers. I'll goto both, as I have for a few years. Good luck to both tracks.

Crash 9,

I invite you to review every comment I have ever made on this or any other thread, I feel you will find that my comments have always been made in what is in support of the best interest of local racing.

If it seems that my comments appear to bash Tri-City its only because Tri-City is the one that is causing other race tracks problems that in my opinion is not in the best interest of racing.

There is noway in the world any reasonable person can support someone else trying to horn in on what someone else already has an established right to.

Just because Belle-Vegas has been running for 50 years does not mean they have a "right" to be the only track running on a certain night in this market.

Survival of the fittest isn't pretty when it happens in nature, and it usually isn't pretty when it happens in racing. But make no mistake, it will continue to happen just the same.

I wish both tracks all the best, and to be honest, this fan hasn't decided which track to support this year. Certainly, there are things to like--and dislike--about both tracks. Ultimately, the product on the track will be the determining factor.

so has any body herd what the outcome was for tri city and UMP
Gundaker got on here and told every one their would be a meeting with UMP ON Thursday the 15th . That was three days ago and hasn't bothered to post anything sense. You would think something that important would have been posted by now.

Mr Gundaker always gets on here to announce the date of an announcement. And everytime, he fails to release the information. Either he is not happy with the decision or he just has terrible public relation skills.

The way it looks, he will have a great product (new track) but the customer service aspect is really lacking.

Even if UMP doesn't give an answer or instructs TCS not to post the answer then the proper move would be to post exactly what is happening rather than just leave it up in the air.

I'm sure UMP needs time to check with their attorney's before granting Tri-City's request to steal anothers livelyhood.

In todays world nothing is done from a position of ethics and morality it is done from a position of legality.

I only hope that Belleclaire also checks with their attorney's because they certainly have a cause.

I guess that nobody that is complaining about the move to friday nights is a racer at tri city, due to the fact that we voted on this last year as we picked up our checks. It was a 95% vote to move to fridays. If you want to blame someone blame the drivers because thats who voted for the change.

I wonder how many of those that voted to go to Friday nights...WERE Sportsman drivers. I am guessing a good majority of the 20 plus drivers that raced there every week. Therefore that makes it a flawed poll, because I am sure those drivers (sportsman) were voting on the move, with the assumption that they had another Friday night track to race at this year.

Would everyone please read the previous 7 pages concerning this issue so you will know what you are talking about before you respond. This issue is not Tri-City running on Fridays nights, it whether or not its ethicial or morally right that they attempt to run Belleville's lineup on Friday nights.

On the subject of the vote that you speak of, Was Kevin honest with you and inform you before you voted that if you vote to switch to Friday nights then Tri-City may not be a UMP venue.

I thought this thread started with someone simply asking whether or not there had been an official announcement.... 8 pages later with nothing resolved, when a simple no would have answered his question

JMO...
