Jimmy can you please kill this thread.its clear that tri city is going to be UMP. I'm sick of all the crying and bashing its getting to be to much

My 2 cents..guys are gonna run where they want and fans can go where they want it's a growing world out there expanding everyday you see something new being built or being improved technology is booming I think if you got the money to improve then do so if you choose. It's a business decision and we may not all agree but its life things change they have to ,to improve and better serve customers. Ya some of the smaller businesses may go under but if they promote and do a well job at it fans will come its kinda like that saying if you build it they will come its true. But every track has their supporters including fans and drivers who are loyal. So what Tri City is closer to Belleville then Godfrey was who cares. If my favorite driver drove there thats where we would go but he is not we follow are favorite driver. I know this entire post has gotting outta hand you can't make evryone happy as soon as you think you can tell me how you pleased everyone thats a secret I wanna know. Seriously people go support your fav track driver what ever the case and be happy you get to see TOP NOTCH DRIVERS in the STL area. My son went in the Navy and is stationed in Jackinsonville Florida and does not have a real close track and its driving him crazy. He is having withdraws lol. I did not mean to go on and on but everyone that has been posting just needs to really be thankful for what we do have in this area and go have a fun racing season. I know thats what my husband and I and my son intend to do this season. Life is to short to be so negative and stress yourself out over things like this. Again sorry for the book see you all who ever that may be at the Bash in 3 days.

NOW TODD, TELL ME YOU REALLY DON'T THINK THAT IS THE CASE. IF IT WAS THAT CUT AND DRIED THERE WOULD BE NO PRESS RELEASE. SAME THING IF IT WAS A PLAIN AND SIMPLE YES. COULD A DEAL BE IN THE WORKS?

I'M GONNA ASK STAN THE 1ST NIGHT A BELLE CLAIR HOW HE FEELS ABOUT THIS TCS UMP THING. MY STANCE HAS JUST BEEN ONE OF STANDING UP FOR THE UNDERDOG. I JUST DIDN'T LIKE HOW SOME PEOPLE ON HERE RUN THERE LIPS AS THOUGH BELLEVILLE SHOULD JUST BE STEP ON. I AM A BELLEVILLE SUPPORTER, BUT IF HE HAS NO PROBLEM WITH IT, I WON'T EITHER. NOT THAT MY OPINION MATTERS ANYWAY. :p :D

That is what I was getting at, Andy. If there was to be no UMP sanction at TCS, there would be nothing to write a press release about. Like I said in an earlier post though, I believe people will just go race at the place that suits them best, regardless of this whole sanction thing.

The responses from the fans and driver's understanding the Business move we made shows they understand what we felt was best to help keep racing in the St. Louis area and bring the best we can. All Promoters in our area are in the same boat, their trying to do what's best and keeping improving the facilities, racing and doing what's best for the Driver's and Fans.

Our familiy loves racing and that's all we've known for a long time. The move to Friday's was a opportunity only because Godfrey closed. The day George Carroll found out he came to our Facility and let us know. We called UMP and asked to move to Friday's for 2007. This was approved and were told at that time we would be sanctioned UMP for 2007. We would be a track taking the Place of Godfrey closing and it would only help racing. Friday's is a better night for Drivers, Fans and Sponsors.

We were told to move forward on the announcement. In the fall we were told they were looking at SEVERAL tracks changes and Dirt was implimenting new quidelines and decisions would be made before the end of 2006.

Just as everyone else we have sat back and waited and have been told many times we would be getting a answer. We have gone by DIRT MOTORSPORTS
quidelines.

We always try to keep our Drivers and Fans updated and have open communication we can only relay what we are told. Many times over and over again we were suppose to be given a yes or no. As of today we don't have a answer.

Racing needs to keep going in the St. Louis area and we ALL need to do whatever it takes to make sure this happens.

More time needs to be spent by ALL putting ideas together and holding events that will benefit everyone.

We really appreciate everyone's patience and Whether were UMP or NOT we will do whatever it takes to give Driver's and Fans the best.

I'm game...............anything to take care of the problem, something needs to be done,i know Jimmy works a full time gig,and this site is done out of passion for the sport, and he cant be the StL police 24/7 and on this note I would also suggest that the forum have moderators to monitor this site(if none are in place now)to help eliminate the riff raff!!!

Well the little triangle in the upper right hand corner reports a bad post, and jimmy checks those more than just all the posts. So anyone can be the stl POLICE by reporting posts and then jimmy can remove or close them if he so chooses. so that is a good idea, now everyone can police the posts, or be moderators.

thanks for the update tammy, I really believe that all the changes that you and kevin have done is well worth it, I myself like the move to friday, and hope you have a very successful year. I look forward to visiting the "new" track and hopefully watching some of the best racing in the area. thanks and good luck.

john tipton.....not afraid to sign my name either

Thanks Tammy for offering some clarity to my question, I wish this information had been offered at the start of this discussion because as you know I have spilled a lot of passion on this subject. While I still don't like what will happen as a result of this action I assure you for what its worth if it were the other way around I would have defended Tri-City just as passionately.

Racefantoo!

Your remarks are rude and uncalled for!

Do you ever think enough is enough.

Gordon Gundaker has given and helped more people in St. Louis than you will ever do!

Quit hiding behind this site and pick up the phone or stop by the race track and address your comments and remarks directly to us.

This way you will be sure to get the facts directly.

You can continue to Bash us, but don't you dare bash Kevin's dad. This is a well respected Business man who has done nothing but help alot of people and has brought alot of growth the the St. Louis area.

If you don't like Tri-City or us than that's your perrogative, but have enough guts to find out the truth and know what your talking about.

As you sit back and lash out we will continue to improve Tri-City for the Driver's and the Fans.

It's comments as yours and the durogatory marks you make about racing in general that reflect back on racing.

If you don't like someone or something than don't go around them or the business their involved in.

I invite you come out and discuss your problems face to face.

When you lash out with your comments this effects us, our staff, drivers and fans. It's comments as yours that's hurts the racing community. Do you want to keep race tracks open and have a place for these driver's to go?

We will have a great facility and great racing for both drivers and fans.

Weekly drivers deserve a good place to race your comments hurt the racing community. If you don't like Tri-City that's fine, but don't comment about something you know nothing about or people you know nothing about.

Kevin has brought alot to the racing community and helped alot of drivers and still does. I guess last year with a average car count of 120 night these driver's must have thought Kevin was just a awful Promoter and didn't really care. Would you call that SUPPORT?

Tammy Gundaker

Cant please all the people all the time and its sad people still roll the lawsuit issue with Montgomery over to a tri city thread. Only reason the comments wer made as well the feelings being shown. Continue doing what you all are doing and disregard the negative comments snce they are usually made by people who have no clue as to what is REALLY going on. Thanks for all you guys have done..and will continue to do.

An official announcement hasn't been made yet. I caution against jumping to conclusions just yet. Along with the newsletter, I also got a list of every sanctioned track for every division, and Tri-City was listed for late models, modifieds & 4 Cylinders.

Any news from UMP?? I kind of need to know..if they are or are not because it will affect what im going to do this year..and im sure it will affect some others as well. I called UMP and all i got was a recording..guessing they were out of the office. I also realize Tri City is in the same boat we all are..awaiting a word. Let us know anyone..if something is posted...thank you.

OH MY GOSH....People, people, give it up.....

Go to the UMP web sight and read it for yourself.

http://www.umpracing.com .....go to the main menu colum on the right side of the page......scroll down click on TRACKS...the map of the United States comes up, click on the State of Illinois. Scroll down the list and TCS is listed as a SANCTIONED Friday night track.

Enough already!!!!!!!

I think its funny how some of you ppl talk like they know for sure that if TCS is UMP sactioned that it will hurt BCS or that it will close it. Only time will tell. Ive been to BCS 1 time, and probably will not go back. I stayed for about 45 min. and left. I personally think the track is too small. JMO. But I love racing and will continue to support my local track, just as the rest of you should. I think Kevin is doing a great thing at TCS! Keep up the good work! Cya at the track!

Somebody likes it .The tracks been open for 54 years and counting. I hope !

Regardless if Tri-City is UMP or not another track running on the same night that close and offering the same program will not be a positive thing for either track, and anyone who thinks otherwise has their head in the sand.
