Most successful bloodlines in the area

I don't have a count, lost track actually, of the titles that John Seets and his brother Jake have won. John also has a UMP National title. If I'm not mistaken this is John's 36th year of racing.

I would appreciate a member of the Seets family posting a list of John's and Jake's track titles because they have won titles at more than just Alton/Godfrey Speedway.

John and his son BJ are the ONLY father and son to have both won titles at the SAME track in the SAME year that I am aware of. Please correct me if I wrong. (I believe Marty Smith Sr. and Jr. have won titles in the same year, but not at the same track.)

The boats race on a "liquid track". Which is much more difficult to race on. You need to take a ride in a two-seat boat (Seebolds have one) and do 90 mph left turns. It is unbelievable what the boat racers do.

I don't distinguish "racers" as one type or another except to explain what they race (pinewood derby, monster truck, motorcycle, offshore boat, slot cars, etc.). Pardon the very badly timed poor pun here.........we're all in the same boat as "racers"..........we all share a passion for the same thing......racing.......some just use a different type of vehicle than the next "racer".

My apologies to the Knepper's I forgot to include Peggy (Arnie's daughter and Art's sister) who raced quarter-midgets.

Big oops!

My apologies.........

I should have asked for a list of ALL of the titles that ALL of the Seets have won.

My error.

I do hope a member of the Seets family posts a list. I would greatly appreciate it and I would certainly add it to the list of records I keep.

Thanks

Between the four Standridge brothers and their father, there has to be something like 20 to 30 track championships and hundreds of wins.

Randy won a bunch of championships at Shaheen's, Ronnie won almost every other weekend at Jacksonville over the years, and Rick and Robbie still continue to win through the area.

And I think there's 20 or so grandchildren, just waiting to get out there.

I think "Tubby" Black has more track titles than Don Klein and he has raced 7 years longer than Dandy Don.

Several years ago I asked Dick Bergeren (Speedway Illustrated) who had won the most races in America. His answer at the time was Don Klein. Klein held that distinction because his wins were DOCUMENTED. Some of the nationally known drivers who claim to have more wins didn't/and maybe still can't document all of their wins.

If you note......Ken Schrader lists every win in his book, "Gotta Race". It is important to keep records.

Donnie Klein And His Nephew Paul Bauman Have Been Pretty Successful. Donnie Has 557 Feature Wins And I Believe Around 17+ Championships. Paul Has At Least 4-5+ Track Championshups And Over 50 Feature Wins I'm Sure.

Mandy Bauman Correct Me If I'm Wrong.

I don't know exactly how many feature wins and championships Donnie has had, but I believe you're pretty close, if not totally correct on his numbers. Since Paul began racing a sportsman in 2001 he's had 5 track championships and 50 feature wins. I'm not sure how many features he won prior to that with his Wannabee, but I know it was quite a few as well. Donnie's boys also raced in the past. Both Gary & Billy raced in the Wannabee class and had a number of feature wins and Ronnie raced a Sportsman (I think that's the correct class) back in the day, but I'm not sure about feature wins.

Now this post has some very interesting information and it is useful to a lot of fans in following family chains that are involved in local racing. Good post everyone and thanks.

couple more family names

For the record keepers, heres a couple more racing family names.

Carl and Stu Springer
Larry and Terry Phillips
Harold and Don Workman
Bill and Kenny Schrader
Dean and Tony Roper(rip)

If you want to expand the "area" a little I can take you to Iowa where they have Ernie Derr who I beleive had two sons that raced Mike and ????? Or we can go into Ohio for Butch and Bart Hartman. I think Bay Darnell had a son Gary who raced too. (Sorry, just had to touch on my favorite era...USAC LateModels)

king

You have Conrad Miner after Mark and Mr. Miner. But Conrads roots run on the other side as well- Ernie Jumper ( grandpa ) and David and Donnie Jumper ( uncles )....

what family is the most dominate on the TRACK, other then the wallaces, i think was the question. have a nice day..:)

ACTUALLY THE QUESTION WAS.... "OTHER THAN THE WALLACE FAMILY, WHAT FAMILIES HAVE BEEN DOMINANT ON THE TRACK"? THERE WAS NO "MOST" IN IT. SO ALL THE REPLIES ARE FINE! ...... YOU HAVE A NICE DAY ALSO! :)

Pitdrifter!!!

Too bad the question wasn't... Who has owned the most race cars and has never raced any of them?:eek::eek:

(Guess who put THAT idea in my head!??!?!)

:D:D:D

TELL HIM IF HE EVER GETS THAT CAR OF HIS CAPABLE OF FINISHING A RACE. HE NEEDS TO LET ME DRIVE IT ONE NIGHT.

The Hoffman Brothers-Darrell, Danny and Dean

And Dale. :)

My vote would go for the Hoffmans as the most dominant family on the track, overall. Isn't Dean working on his 23rd or 24th championship at Belle-Clair this year? (I'm being sarcastic, so all you techno-phobes need to relax.)

My question is what tracks did the Wallace's dominate ??

I would say the Seets.................
