Most successful bloodlines in the area

I went back and checked my Godfrey champions list........again it is not complete........it has nothing prior to 1983. Since 1983 I am missing the following years.........1986, 1990, and 2003. Thanks for making me double check my work.

I can add......

1 title for Mark Faust, 2004 Late Model

1 title for B. J. Seats, 2004 B Modified

1 title for Ed Dixon, 1993 Late Model

Again, if anyone has any of the info on past champs from Alton/Godfrey/Ascot Speedway (it had several other names as well) please let me know.

I don't have records for Belle Clair or Greenville. I'll check with David Walker on Greenville and Linda Schaefer with Belle Clair to see if they can help me track down some more records.

Thanks everyone for all your help!

I was not going to get into this, but I guess I can help with some Belle Clair info.

Mark Faust won Late model titles in 1998 and 2001.

Add McClintock to the list with Marc and Dustin.

Here are Ed Dixon's track championships that I know of at Belle Clair - 1999, 2005 and 2006.

Marty Smith Jr. won Modified title at Belle Clair in 2005.

Eileen,

Does this mean you are starting a master list of past champions? I've visited several other area track websites and have been disappointed to find there are no past champions listed.

Bill

Bill.........

I'm working on a lot of area racing lists at the moment.

Eventually there will be a list of every past champion of everything in the St. Louis area. Remember I keep records/data/stats, etc. for everything that races in St. Louis........

That list includes, but is not limited to.........in no particular order

monster trucks
motorcycles......and there is alot of different types of these
3 types of drag racing......boats, sand drags, drags
3 types of boat racing......drag boats, power boats, offshore boats
stock cars
open wheel
karts
quarter-midgets
sports cars
combine demo derbies
sunrayce
Great American race
vintage racing
airplanes
land speed records
Indy 500 (St. Louis racers/owners, etc.)
radio-controlled cars

And whatever else I am forgetting........

The ones I'm not certain about are slot cars, bathtubs, lawn mowers, and barstools.

Tim Hancock has also won the track championship at Brownstown, Il.(Fayette County Speedway) in 2006.
Tim is only related to the Seets By marriage.

Also Jim Werner Sr. has been racing for over 40 years and has won many track championships at Macon Speedway, Ill and at Shahans, the old track that was in Springfield, Il and Jim Werner Jr. has been racing for I think at least 15 years or more, and I don't think he has won any track championships.

I could be wrong, but I was thinking that Tim's mom had married Tom, making Tim Tom's stepson. I also thought I remember Tim growing up and living with Tom and Rhonda. To me, he should be included in the Seets family.
And it seems to me, that the Seets have to be the "winningest Family"!

Carl Springer
Stu Springer
Danny Haynes
Ricky Horton
CJ Springer
Steve Maisel (kind of?)
There's a couple more, but I can't think of their names right now. LOL

Ive always considered Tim part of the Seets family, after all Tommie and Cheri are his brother and sister, and Tom raised him.

yeah i have family too blood is thicker than water when you THINK YOU GOT FRIENDS you find out your family is still there have a good weekend and good luck

You know......I don't know why I didn't post this one earlier.........because I do know this..........it just didn't register before now............sorry.

The "winningest family" would be the Seebold family.

Bill, Sr. (aka "Grandpa Bill") started the boat racing dynasty. Next came Bill, Jr. who holds by himself 69 National and International Championships and over 900 wins. His sons, Mike and Tim both race. I haven't totaled up their championships lately, but they would easily add another 10 or more.

Bill, Jr. is known for having created the capsule (roof) that is now used on the powerboats which has saved many lives.

Bill, Jr. is also responsible for THE boat race known as "The Indy 500 of Boat Racing" held each year in St. Louis for over 30 years now.

The event benefits the Lions Club charities and it is the race everyone wants to win............especially when they can beat the Seebolds on their home turf.

Bill, Jr. began racing boats at the age of 11, winning his first race, and continued racing for 46 years.

My apologies to all for not remembering this one sooner.

The local boat racers own over 1/3 of all the national and international championships held by St. Louis racers.

Dave Scott of Nauti Marine in Edwardsville, IL owns 17 national and world titles in his Offshore boats.

real racing is four wheels but seebolds have been around a looong time

I don't know that I know who you are.

I don't hide behind a screen name.

In 30 plus years of hanging around the "world's best racers" (my opinion/and admitted prejudice) and in over 25 years of (mostly volunteer) St. Louis motorsports media coverage/Press/PR work for virtually every form of racing in St. Louis..........I have NEVER said ONE form of racing was more REAL than another. I make no distinctions. I support EVERY form of racing in St. Louis because I have an enormous amount of respect for what each form does.

I UNDERSTAND that some racers PREFER one flavor over another, but I do NOT BELIEVE that one form of racing is MORE REAL than another.

I PROMOTE ALL forms of St. Louis racing at ALL times with ALL the tracks and organizations because when we ALL WORK TOGETHER we ALL go farther faster.

My point is we ALL need to WORK TOGETHER, respect one another and not segregate ourselves because we all LOVE a need for speed. We just don't all do it with the same racing equipment.

Enjoy and celebrate St. Louis' diversity, quantity, and quality of racing. You won't find a better place for racing than St. Louis!
