Granite City residents & Tri-City

The environmental folks might have an issue with oil in the soil on the property, air quality from the leaded gas, etc. that could be used to shut the track down. If Granite City was really concerned about noise and dust instead of shutting down the track, they would have done something crazy like contact the track to work something out. Mufflers could be worked in pretty easily since most teams already have them for other tracks or an informal cutoff time could be negotiated if they were really concerned about those issues. Sounds like St. Peters all over again. Just keep beating the track over the head until they give up.

next year support the race track only and dont solicite the granite city businesses and let them see how much effect the racing community can have on tax dollars

Im with these people..I bought a house next to Lambert airport and its really starting to pi$$ me off that all these planes are flying overhead...Im thinking about taking this matter to the city council..the track has been there for awhile get over it..

same goes for who bought a house by a huge airport

never seems to amaze me that some people will buy a house next to a place that has a high noise level ,live there a year or so and decide that that place should bow to their wants. if the track was there before you was live with it or move

Hello

I am sure it has been said before. It is a shame it is happening, but I find it kind of funny also. Cosmic Karma at its finest, what goes around comes around.

same goes for who bought a house by a huge airport
i live by the airport in bethalto and everyday i call and ask them if they change change the patterns so there not flying over my house. they laugh i wonder how long the airport has been there the realitor never informed me of theis airport and i never noticed it as i drive down hwy111 its hid behind QT :D

Johnny 5.

Had enough of this crap. Pick up the phone and call Gordon your self and
get the TRUE facts. While your on the phone ask him about the papers that were filed removing Gordon and another partner out of the deal when they heard about what was going on. All patners except Caram thought is was childish and they didn't want to get involved in a fued that was between Mel's Father and Caram. The only reason NOTHING has been reseloved because Mel's Father and Caram can't agree (no one else just those 2 if they would work things out between themselves all would be good).

KNOW THE REAL FACTS BEFORE YOU ACCUSE ANYONE!!!!! AND QUIT HURTING RACING FOR ANY TRACK.

Racing is suffering enough right now and tracks are closing down left and right. Comments like yours without knowing the FACTS just continues to keep things going and accusing people who have nothing to do with this is wrong. You have the freedom of speech and can post what ever you want, but know what your talking about. I'm tired of you basing Gordon he knew nothing about this and when he did find out he's the one who called Caram and told him to knock it off and work things out. Oh by the way when your getting the truth from Gordon make sure you tell him Thank you for not charging anything for the adjacent lot for fans to park on.
When Mel bought the track Gordon was the first one to help in anyway. This was before the problems started with Caram, then after the fact Gordon knowing how childish this thing is between 2 grown men told Caram he gave Mel the land to park on and he was keeping his word no matter what Caram did.

Gordon, still to this day has spoken to Caram and told him how rediculious this whole thing is and to work it out. Caram refuses.

Thank you,
Tammy Gundaker

That should end this issue. Good post...some idiots just can't stand to let things die and be over with. Nice to talk to you again at the track this past year. Hope to race again in 09 at Tricity...

What I would like to know is exactly how many Granite City residents actually voted on the matter. And really Granite City has nothing to do with the track cause the track is in Pontoon Beach. I think its silly how a couple of people get their pants in a bunch and try and close down a business that is good for a community. Lets close down the local bars for serving people to much alcohol and putting other peoples lives at risk. Or worrying about the drug houses in the area.

How bout the bar down the street where cops from different precincts were shooting each other. Talk about a turf war.

Just to let everyone know we have a 20 year annexation agreement with the city of Pontoon Beach in which the track is located. We are not in the Granite City limits. We have talked to Mayor Denham (The Mayor of Pontoon Beach) and he has assured us that there is no problem as far as he is concerned.

We are looking forward to the 2009 season and well into the future!

Thank You,
Kevin Gundaker

that's all fine and good

next year support the race track only and dont solicite the granite city businesses and let them see how much effect the racing community can have on tax dollars

Well that might be hard to do since some Granite City business's support the track and are sponsors, its the rest of the business's that you might not want to visit or solicite. But REMEMBER that the business's that support the track should be supported by the fans.:)

And of course support the race track
