I-55 Ken Schrader Modified Challege Updates....

How many time has I-55 raceway had a big event and the track was "hooked up"? Many, many times. That's a fact. Here's another fact, if these drivers decided to stop going to a track everytime that track had a bad night, it wouldn't be long until they had no tracks left to go to. This fall when they run this race again, 90% of these guys or more will be back. When $2500 is put up for grabs, guys start having short-term memories.

Okay guys it's time to get honest with yourselves and figure out why you're defending this.

Do you want I-55 raceway and other local tracks to fail and go out of business? Does one tough among many good nights night constitute this sort scrutiny?

My friend, I think you've been spoiled.

That was the greatest display of freight train racing I have ever seen. Bar none. What was surprising was it was Modifieds that couldn't pass. I am not going to slam the I-55 for track prep, I understand why they played it conservative after the weather forecast. I think the race ended at 10 til midnight. There was a lot of cautions. I thought the only issue with the transponders was the 1st group qualifying but I could be wrong. If anyone thought they were going to get out of there at 10:30 was a little naive. 81 Modifieds racing for $2500, it is going to be a LONG night. All that said, I do feel bad for anyone that paid $20 to watch the $5 show last night. Definitely did not live up to the hype. Hope the next one is better.

I don't understand why Leka was not given his spot back. The dude was fast last night. Mike Maginnity had his hands full when the flag man & Leka were going at it. He had to hold both of them back.

Thank you Kenny Schrader for trying to make the end of the race interesting.

I see the I-55 cheerleaders have gotten out their pom-poms and started the cheering...give me an I...give me a 5...give me another 5...what's it spell????? B.S.
Dog face & moonBlow weren't even there yet they're going to tell us how it is and bigevil must have some unknown reason for defending a bad product. Just saw jmcgrew47's post...did you not understand my post guys? Why can't you guys get honest...hoping to get in free for playing the p.r. part? There isn't ANY excuse for what happened last night!
There's guys from out of town that WILL be spreading the word about I-55.

this is dirt racing you do what you can with dirt and mother nature and 80 racecars do the rest. if you dont like the product why do you keep going back and paying just to complain about it. there are numerous tracks within 100 miles of here for you to enjoy if you can try them out and let us know how good they are on a regular basis.

There sure is and I have been to all of them. I have seen dismal performances on all of them too. No track is perfect and never will be. It just s.u.c.k.s when it happens. At least Leka and the officials put on a show.

Just saw one BIG positive about last night on 4m that I forgot about. It may have actually paid better to be one of the slower guys who didn't get torn up and didn't make the feature ($100)than to be in the mix in the feature and have all those repairs.
I DON'T WANT ANY TRACK TO FAIL!
You guys sound like you haven't been trying to see why you can't get honest with yourselves yet.
I'm going to be opening up a restaurant pretty soon but I'm not sure I'll have enough $ to pay the gas/electric bills so sometimes the food might not be cooked correctly. At least I'm telling you up front. Will you guys help me out and be loyal customers and spread the good word?
Please put down the cool-aid... they've got you hooked.
1 more time...the word is being spread about I-55's performance-show procedures,officiating,track conditions.
Can't call a spade a spade? Head stuck in the sand? Rose colored glasses?

probably would have been much later if they qualified 1 at a time. people moaned and groaned about i55 not having transponders now they try them and still can't please some.

WE laughed about this and how long it would take didn't we ? LOL!

You know folks, for all this whining about the late night and the transponder issues, shouldn't we just be thrilled that we had a mid-week racing option? There's a large section of this country--pretty much most of the west-central and western parts--where fans and racers have to drive 100 miles or more just to see one race per weekend. And here, in addition to the Friday and Saturday night tracks, we have quite a number of weeknight shows throughout the season. And then we gripe about them.

I mean, I know I'm one of the first to complain when programs run too late, but come on, they had 80 mods last night. Even with the transponder mess, they still managed to get opening ceremonies and the first heat on the track just a little past 8:30. And then, be honest, the heats ran pretty quickly. Even the semis didn't take all that long. Even if the planets had aligned perfectly, and the whole deal came off without a hitch, you had to know we weren't going to get out of there before 10:30 or 10:45.

Bottom line, everyone knew it could be a late night. So you either take a day off work today, or you **** it up and stop on your way to work and get a Red Bull to wash down your breakfast.

We are honest with ourselves we go every week we know this is not the norm at I-55.We know when we go back Sat. the racing will be great.****s it turned out like it did.It survives cause we all know that we will see a good show when we go back.If you are a dirt racing fan you know that WE RACE ON DIRT NOT ASPHALT and this can and does happen. Its not the end of dirt racing cause you saw one crappy race.

ACTUALLY THAT'S TWO NIGHTS IN A ROW THAT THE TRACK FLAT OUT ****ED. LAST SATURDAY NIGHT WAS A BURNT UP PIECE OF CR@P TOO!

I don't think anyone is defending the track last night, the racing ****ed, I will defend the track in general. You might as well say the Lucas Oil Series won't be back to tri city because it was rough the last time they were there. Get real, they will be back and stock car racing is not going to die in St. Louis because of one bad show. We will see come Oct. 24th, racers are racers and that is what they live for.

Saturday the track was dry slick with plenty of passing, if you set up right for it. Hancock, Collins, Jumper and others all proved that.

If you don't like dry slick racing, I suggest you stop going to the races after May, and don't go to any big shows.

$$$ talks

well if Korte can win a few more races that traction control will pay for itself:eek:. I will not believe he don't have it until he can prove it.

Korte was not the fastest car last night. He wasn't even the fastest car left on the track.Schrader was faster but had no way to get around him. Leka was definitely the man to beat last night. Too bad him and Hancock got together. I am getting cross eyed from looking at 00 all the time.

All you Korte haters need to get over it! Hes just on fire right now and really hard to beat!

He may have his stretch of bad luck like he seems to have every year...

Then you can talk all the sh!t you want!!

Until then just shut up and let the man keep dominating!

Great Job Korte and crew!!!

Okay here is my question and would love your answer! I live in Arnold, Mo what perfect track do you suggest I go to ? Not to dry not to heavy, no bumps - the track that another car will never ever ever touch our car or vice a versa and the little Tinker Bells are spreading Happy Fairy dust all over and the drivers are all perfect and they all get along and all can live in glass houses because there are no rocks in this place- the perfect place that our kids do not fight and the checks don't bounce you know what I am looking for Please assist me in this search. Open to suggestions - I will be waiting for this suggestion for perfect place.

Hey Glynn, if you're going to accuse someone of cheating, you'd darn well better be able to prove it. I personally have no idea who is cheating out there. I hope nobody is doing it but I know that a few probably are. I know this, if you make an accusation like that and you can't prove it to be true or you're proven wrong, you look like a big time A-hole D-bag.
