I-55 Ken Schrader Modified Challege Updates....

To yawannago who said the track s****d last Saturday, I highly disagree. How did Horton and Hancock storm to the front from the back if it was burnt up? How did Bittle and Mabry pass Walsh? As in every night you have to have the right set up, alot of talent, and a little bit of luck. Most of this year the track has been tacky with the exception of maybe 3 nights. Yes, last night was very boring..freight train, but not last Saturday, I enjoyed last Saturday. JMO

As for the guy accusing Korte of traction control...well, have you ever used it? I've talked to alot of guys who have and have tossed it because it really isn't worth the money you pay for it. Far be it for someone to be extremely talented and yes he has alot of money behind him so he can afford the best of the best. He's also had alot of experience! Don't be a hater, just try to learn by watching him. JMO

Just saw one BIG positive about last night on 4m that I forgot about. It may have actually paid better to be one of the slower guys who didn't get torn up and didn't make the feature ($100)than to be in the mix in the feature and have all those repairs.
I DON'T WANT ANY TRACK TO FAIL!
You guys sound like you haven't been trying to see why you can't get honest with yourselves yet.
I'm going to be opening up a restaurant pretty soon but I'm not sure I'll have enough $ to pay the gas/electric bills so sometimes the food might not be cooked correctly. At least I'm telling you up front. Will you guys help me out and be loyal customers and spread the good word?
Please put down the cool-aid... they've got you hooked.
1 more time...the word is being spread about I-55's performance-show procedures,officiating,track conditions.
Can't call a spade a spade? Head stuck in the sand? Rose colored glasses?

Man, I'd love to have a Prozac or Lexapro concession on here for all those who are never happy and do their best to let all the rest of us know how unhappy they are and how nearly every race at every track is a bad one........I'd be rich instantly.

Also, the USMTS series run nearly every race for $2000 to win. They're pretty much considered to be great Mod drivers. So a $2500 race is a good payday.
so you think $2500 is a good payday? tri-city late in the yr. has modified mania $3000 per night for three nights.

The top 3 looked like they were driving on asphalt. I guess Schrader & Mevert are cheaters too. I don't if he cheats but wheres your proof? Like I said before, he was the 3rd fastest car there last night. Fortunately the fastest car went out & the 2nd fastest was stuck behind him.

Not going sideways is called throttle control

A better indicator on both the modifieds and late models is how much deeper Korte can go into the corner FULL THROTTLE (left rear never untucks) until the middle of the turn. How come guys like Weber, Walsh and Hancock can't pull that off, no matter what? Korte comes in with a modified, first year in a mod in a looooooooooong time at I-55, and can outrun the top dogs that have been there for years, without barely lifting going into the turns.....yeah, everything's on the up and up THERE.

I'm not accusing anyone of anything. Personally I don't care. But those of you that think traction control isn't being used and is too expensive for the local guys.... I think you're wrong. If I had a mod or late model you could bet your sweet behind I'd have it. Call me a cheater if you want. But if at all possible I would have what I know I'm running against. But, until someone gets serious about checking for the stuff or a sure fire way to detect it is used, it will be there.

digging for my best James Earl Jones voice...

DirtGirl, people will come DirtGirl. They'll come to Pevely for reasons they can't even fathom. They'll turn up the driveway not knowing for sure why they're doing it. They'll arrive at the gate as innocent as children, longing for the past. Of course, they won't mind if you look around, you'll stay. It's only $10 per person. They'll pass over the money without even thinking about it: for it is money they have and peace they lack. And they'll walk out to the bleachers; sitting in their favorite driver shirt on a perfect evening. They'll find they have a great seats somewhere along the tracks, where they sat when they were children and cheered their heroes. And they'll watch the race and it'll be as if they dipped themselves in magic waters. The memories will be so thick they'll have to brush them away from their faces. People will come DirtGirl. The one constant through all the years, DirtGirl, has been dirt track racing. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But dirt track racing has marked the time. This track, this race: it's a part of our past, DirtGirl. It reminds of us of all that once was good and it could be again. Oh... people will come DirtGirl. People will most definitely come.

Brilliant....well done Sir!

I would like you to tell me what you enjoyed so much about last nights show mr. evil.I HAVE NOT HEARD 1 PERSON SAY WHAT WAS SO GREAT ABOUT LAST NIGHTS SHOW!!! That's because they have a hard-on for the place or have some kind of relationship to someone........or else they're an ignorant boob who thinks just seeing cars on the track is the coolest thing!

I didn't say that it was the highest paid Mod race. But yeah, I think
$2500 is pretty darn good otherwise 80 or so Mods wouldn't have been there. I'm sure you'll also rip Tri-City for something when Mod Mania happens too.

Thats like their all star race. Money is out of the picture, prides on the line. If you say top drivers from all over competing for over $2500 that just dont sound right. It should say top drivers from 3-5 tracks in the midwest area. lol

I bet those $3,000 to win shows at Tri-City for Modified Mania don't pay $300 to start and $100 to all 56 of the other cars that don't make the show!

As for all these claims about how no one could pass, well, no, we didn't see a bunch of charges from the back of the heat races. But that's because they started the races straight up. We still saw some great racing in the semis for that lone transfer spot out of each race.

Good Job Korte And Crew Korte is just a good driver he don't need anything to aid him in wheeling around a track he is just that good just because he wins alot doesnt mean he cheats when you got skill like that why waste money on cheating?

There is an easy fix to this traction control. UMP needs to be able to go to any driver on any night and have them run with a standard MSD box. You can tell me Korte doesnt have it all you want but until its proven you cant make me think any drifferent. And yes its not just Korte out there are Im sure a few others. Or a driver should be able to protest someones box and they would have to use this neutral MSD box. Korte is a good driver but come on people OPEN your eyes. I know someone else said its throttle control but no ones perfect for that many laps.

The track did _uck and the transponders failed horribly. I am tired of people blaming the weather to get the monkey off rays back. He has been doing this long enough that we should have had better than what we had last night. Yets face it in the 20 years I have been going to pevely, I cannot remember having this many bad tracks. No I dont want pevely closed I will still go there but I would like to see more effort.

I see the I-55 cheerleaders have gotten out their pom-poms and started the cheering...give me an I...give me a 5...give me another 5...what's it spell????? B.S.
Dog face & moonBlow weren't even there yet they're going to tell us how it is and bigevil must have some unknown reason for defending a bad product. Just saw jmcgrew47's post...did you not understand my post guys? Why can't you guys get honest...hoping to get in free for playing the p.r. part? There isn't ANY excuse for what happened last night!
There's guys from out of town that WILL be spreading the word about I-55.
Here I got some Honest words for you, Ya things didnot go as they wanted but they tryed. I could give you 10 reasons why it worked or did not work but at the end of the night they tryed. Ray was disapointed things went so bad but he never told me oh well. Heck give the man some credit. If ya didnot like the way things were going you had every chance to LEAVE Why get on here and piss an mone over it? Oh since no one has posted it yet we had a long and fun night of racing. THANKS RAY FOR HAVING THE SHOW

BTW, dirtface, I'll call out I-55 Raceway any time I see fit, if I feel something wrong has happened. But even with the tough track conditions of late, the races are still some of the best offered on a Saturday night around here.

i never went either way with the racing and how it was. you are the one of a few that are badmouthing the track and making yourself look like a jerk. it wasnt the best show but im not going to badmouth the track about it.
