Tribute to Dean Motsinger

Just as everyone else is in shock so are we...We had just become good friends with the Motsinger clan...."Uncle" Leonard & "Cousin" Dean as we refer to them..

There are not words to express our thoughts at this time...Just always know that Dean will be with us.

God speed Dean...RIP

Evidently because this happened on the weekend a lot of the news services did not run the story until this morning (Monday). KFVS-TV had it and it was playing on KTJJ (98.5 FM) this morning when I woke up. The whole thing still seems like some sort of bad dream anyway..

I want to send my condolences to the whole Motsinger family. I really hate to hear this, it is really devastating. Most of my best racing memories were made with Dean right there beside me. He was an awesome teacher and very good race car driver. If there is anything at all I could do for you guys, please let me know. God Speed in the Rayburn Brother. I'll miss ya buddy.

I have been friends with Dean and his family for quite some time now. I can't really put into words what I am feeling right now. His family must be devestated. I got to talk to his mom, Carol, sunday, but only briefly. I was in the process of working out the details about getting back together with Dean and his family on a racing project. I was looking forward to working with them all again. Our thougts and prayers go out to the Motsinger family. I know you are in a much better place today Dean, where the tires never wear, the mud never sticks, the sheet metal never bends and the motors never blow!!! God bless you and your family. Tom Pratt

Rick and I were at Trashdog's wedding (which was very beautiful) and got a chance to talk to Dean for a little bit - it seems so hard to believe now that he's gone. He did do a wonderful job as best man and looked very sharp if I do say so myself. If he was proud to do it - it definately showed. The early morning phone call from Jeff Sunday was heartbreaking. Both Mr and Mrs Trashdog were very shook up, but when I talked to them yesterday morning they were doing much better. They are going on their honeymoon and are going to try to have fun. My heart goes out to them for this tragedy happening at the beginning of their lives together.

We will miss Dean dearly. His knowledge of racing and his place in the racing comminity will cause a void. I kind of chuckled a little bit when going through these posts. So many people respected Dean whether they got along with him or not - that says a lot about a man. Many people said they didn't see eye to eye with Dean, but they did manage to get along with him. Dean was one of those people who make the world colorful - even if you didn't agree with him, if you listened to his argument or advice, you could still learn from it and realize that others have beneficial thoughts and opinions. He even changed my stubborn opinion on a couple things.

Rest in Peace, Dean

I want to send my condolences to the Motsinger Family and Friends.

I only got to see Dean race once this year @the Bluff and I had stopped at his pit and hollered: "Hey Deaneeee Weeneeee" ..he hollered back @ me c'mere "sssssssssss**** house woman"....We was laughing and joking with each other for alongtime!!
He was being "Dean".......

When I think of Deaneeeeeeeeeee Weeneeeeeeeee: I can close my eyes and see him and Denny Keith nose to nose hollerin at each other at the Rock. Denny tellin him NOT TO COME BACK IF THAT WAS THE WAY HE FELT......Laffin!!!

Then he would go home and get on the Rocks Forum and would give Denny hell and we would all join in.
Millseyyyyyyyyyyyyyy would delete our post faster than we could put em up there and swatin our knuckles!!!

Yes, as the one post said, "Dean would not want us to sit and cry and morn him he would want us to remember those good times!!!!"

So, Hey Buddy ...........1 budlite and one "Good dirt track race for YOU".....:)
Your Friend, Kat/Bvt

"Maybe gone, But never forgotten!"

Our prayers go out to Dean's family and the many people he touched.
Only time I have gotten to talk with Dean was at the track, mostly the ROCK. What I liked most about Dean was he treated drivers with respect even if you drove a mini stock. Most of the time people in the upper classes such as Sprints & Late Models could care less who you where or what you drove or what you had to say if it wasn't in their class, but that wasn't Dean! When I would see Dean he would either say how I was driving, good or bad and If hadn't seen you racing he would asked you how it was going. He was more than willing to give advise if he thought it was welcomed, which it always was. Dean was a true talent on & off the track and will truely be missed by anyone that was bless enough to know him.
It will be hard, but GOD is there to lean on.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone involved in this horrible accident. I know he has a baby on the way but i also think he has a 4 or 5 year old does anyone know for sure. How is he/she doing? when i think of the loss of the chlid it just makes it all even worse. If i am remembering right it is with Vada I may not be sure on the name I am just wondering.

rest in peace
