Tribute to Dean Motsinger

BVT said:
I want to send my condolences to the Motsinger Family and Friends.

I only got to see Dean race once this year @the Bluff and I had stopped at his pit and hollered: "Hey Deaneeee Weeneeee" ..he hollered back @ me c'mere "sssssssssss**** house woman"....We was laughing and joking with each other for alongtime!!
He was being "Dean".......

When I think of Deaneeeeeeeeeee Weeneeeeeeeee: I can close my eyes and see him and Denny Keith nose to nose hollerin at each other at the Rock. Denny tellin him NOT TO COME BACK IF THAT WAS THE WAY HE FELT......Laffin!!!

Then he would go home and get on the Rocks Forum and would give Denny hell and we would all join in.
Millseyyyyyyyyyyyyyy would delete our post faster than we could put em up there and swatin our knuckles!!!

Yes, as the one post said, "Dean would not want us to sit and cry and morn him he would want us to remember those good times!!!!"

So, Hey Buddy ...........1 budlite and one "Good dirt track race for YOU".....:)
Your Friend, Kat/Bvt

hey how about the time he got hit in the eye with a rock and was walking around the pitts with a patch on his eye!!! I think that was the first time I met Mean Dean Montzinger:D :D

In memory of Dean.

Dean was a great guy, and I could not believe the tragic news when I heard about it today. Dean was always a good person in my eyes and I really enjoyed talking about setups and other racers with him because you could get the truth from Dean. He was not one to hold back his thoughts, and he was one that would stick up for his beleifs and his freinds. Those are very good qualities in my opinion and I will really miss racing with him, and watching racing with the guy. For the 06 season I will be representing Dean with a decal of his number on my car to keep the good spirit of Dean around for years to come. The Steffens Motorsports Team will never forget the good times with Dean Motsinger.

my thoughts and prayers are with the family, and I have read a lot on here about a man that was loved by everyone he touched, one way or another. Maybe we all can learn from him, be yourself, love everyone. I hope that when I go to see god, like dean did, that people remember me like everyone remembers Dean, of course I'm not in the same class as Dean.

May he rest in peace and never be forgotten.

Devastating! Thats all I can say. Mike Hoffner called me sat. and told me what happened and I was stunned. I was another person that didn't always see eye to eye with him on racing subjects, but always had respect for what he knew and was able to accomplish.
I never even met you, Racing Brother, and I miss you already. I'll see you in the place where the motors never blow, save me a good spot. My heart goes out to his family, friends, other loved ones and his boy on the way.

Memories

2 weeks ago I stopped by Deans shop. It had been awhile since I had stopped, so we spent 1/2 hour or so catching up, and discussing next season. We finally got to have our laugh about a few pranks, from back during mid season. Namely scouring the back roads for hours to find a live possum to put in his enclosed trailer, and the ever popular fish under the truck seat. Not that he enjoyed either of these events, but he has come to expect such from me. As we talked I noticed a change in him. He was doing a thorough cleaning of a corner of the shop that rarely got touched, especially by him. Discussed a girl he was dating, and how he REALLY liked her. Along with plans for the 2006 season. He talked about Matthew and Emmy, awhile...We usually like to at least bicker and give each other a hard time., but such wasnt the case this day. His attitude was different, his outlook was different. We worked out a deal on some parts and I left the shop headed home. Not knowing that a friend of 30 years wouldnt be htere the next time I stopped in....

Wow..im floored!! Im really sorry to hear this..ive been workin 2 jobs..and no time to get on here. My condolences to him..and his family. We talked on here..couple of times..didnt always see eye to eye..but..we did chat in pm about stuff too. Heck of a guy...and...fellow racers stick together. God speed Dean...if the family needs anything..post it on here..we all will try to anything we can.

Well i don't know where to start with this but i'll give it a try. Dean and i have been arguing the last couple of months and i hated to do that with him because the guy ment so much to me has was well like brother. He taught me ever thing i know about a race car and we had some preaty good times out at the bars. I hope he is in a better place right now. I will never forget the memories that we have spent together.

Where, oh where to begin...First off...THANK YOU to everyone...our racing family is awesome. Dean has touched everyone that knew him in one way or the other, good or bad. Dean was always Dean. Like him or hate him, he was one of a kind. We have always had our ups and downs, but always seemed to find our way back to one another. His kids and racing was his life. For 7 years Dean was my life, I will always love him, and a part of me will forever be gone. But his mother and father and I will never let the children forget him. EVER!!

Like everyone, I have my regrets..Dean called me too that morning but I never heard the phone. He left a voice mail that stated that he was walking home from Dogs wedding, that he was at MM107 and that's all there was.

I know that this is a tragic accident, but I want people to learn something from this.....NEVER EVER LET A DAY GO BY THAT YOU DONT TELL THE PEOPLE THAT YOU CARE ABOUT HOW YOU FEEL. Because you never know what may happen.

Again, thank you to everyone.
Luevada, Emily, and Matthew Motsinger

Dean, was a good guy and like a quite afew have said he would give you his shirt off his back to help you. He did tell what he thought and if you didn't like it oh well that was Dean. Just like luevada had said if you learn one thing from this tell the people around you that you love them and how much you care for them. This world is filled with enough negative. My thoughts and prayer for this Family during this time of mourning.

Mvc-037s.jpgI am truely saddened to hear this news, and my deepest sympathy goes out to all who were involved with Dean.
I spoke with him on Saturday, and he sounded upbeat and excited about the wedding.
We spoke about my new Sportsman car, and it's care and feeding, I assume that I now own the very last Motsinger, and am looking foreward to it's open comp debut on Nov 25-26, in El Centro, CA against some of the west's very best.
GODSPEED DEAN- we dedicate this race to your memory--Dave

Dean will never be forgotten by the ones who knew him. He was one of a kind. Always there when you needed him. He was one of my best friends and I will miss all the good times we had but I will remember those good times and know that he remembers them too. We also have to remember his family. They have suffered a great loss and need support right know and in a few months and even in a few years. Keep the memories close to your heart and share a laugh with someone over something Dean said or something he did.

To all of his family Leonard, Carol, Vada, Matthew, Emily, Donna, and Kylie, Dean has embedded a place in my heart and I will never forget. Cherish the memories you have and know that he loves you and he is still with you. You are all in our thoughts and prayers. If you need anything don't hesitate to ask.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Dean's entire family and to all those who were close to him.

For me, it's always very hard to hear about and deal with the loss of a member of our racing community, especially a race car driver.

My thoughts go out to Dean's family and friends.

I hope for strength for John and his wife. I cannot image dealing with a situation like this.

Now Dale Sr. has some dirt competition.

All of our thoughts and memories with Dean will never be forgotten. We will miss Dean.

Our Deepest Sympathy

Poplar Bluff Speedway wishes to extend our Deepest Sympathy to the family and friends of Dean Motsinger.

I wasn't going to post on this board because personally I didn't know Dean or his family, but after reading these posts I changed my mind. As a wife of a racecar driver and a mother of two I would just like to send my condolences to the Motsinger family. This is such a hard thing to go through. I have learned alot in three years that Lou has been racing and that is there are such great people in our racing community. Whether we agree or not we still have somewhat of a bond that will always bind us together. Lean on those who offer support and know that we all as a racing family will be thinking of you. Just know that you all will be in my thoughts and prayers in the upcoming days. May God bless you all.

No I didn't know Dean, but he sounds like a great person. My thoughts and prayers are with the Motsinger Family. R.I.P. Dean.
