Tribute to Dean Motsinger

I don't know Dean personally, however I have met him a couple of times at Randy's house working on the race car in the past, Our thoughts and prayers go out to the entire family. May GOD keep you close to his heart and walk you through the time of need. GOD BLESS!

Well I have searched and searched for the right words or thoughts and DAMN IT DEAN you finally got me! I am like the most of you just stunned.
Dean and I had the same ole conversations and debates as the rest of you have had with him. One thing about Dean is it was easy to dis-agree with him. We would debate stuff at the track and never have the same opinion but we never raised our voices or called each other ugly names ( well not to each others faces ROLMFAO ).. Even at the Sportsman Nationals when I saw him we talked awhile and didn't agree then either! But I could count on Dean hollaring at me if he saw me to make conversation, debate, spares or just a friendly chat! And I am hoping that when Dean get's to his destination that they finally have them tires he has been wanting all his life! I have forgotten are they the d-55's he'd been wanting

To Deans family you have our deepest sympathies on the loss of your son, brother, Grandson, and father.
To the unborn Montsinger child may you be blessed all the days of your life.

Dean Thanks for the memories and sorry you had to go so soon. I guess God had other plans for you and we shall not wonder why but accept it as his will. R.I.P. No more pain no more confusion. Thinking of you..

Damn....I was shocked when I seen this!! I never had the opportunity to meet Dean, but I always did cheer him on when he was racin'. One of my favorites, even if he didn't have the best of luck at Pevely.

Deepest sympathies to the Motsinger family, and my God guide them through this, and help them move on.

My Condolences

My deepest condolences to the Motsinger family. I had met him only a few times at I-55, and he was always very nice. God Speed.

Damn, I'm not really sure what to say! I just read about this within the past 10 mins and it totally took me by surprise! While I didn't personally know Dean, I did know him through this message board and seeing him at the tracks. This is a terrible terrible tragedy!

God Bless the Motsinger family and everyone affected by this!

John Barr and your new wife...may you also find the peace you need to make it through this difficult time!

RIP DEAN you'll be missed and remembered by everyone in our racing community!

A Great Loss To Our Racing Family

GODSPEED Dear friend

Heart felt Sorrow and Condolences to Leonard and Carol and the rest of the family. On the loss of their loved one. Dean was a good person. When Debbie and I decided to open a race car themed restaurant I remembered back when Dean had the Pit stop and when I started lookin for race car parts to hang on the wall guess who was the first person to donate the first door panel? Dean. That #44 Motsinger masonary panel has alot of meaning to it now. it will hang in the front from now on thats where it belongs thats where its been. Racers like being in the front thats where they belong. And we know Dean was a racer if you didn't you were deaf all you had to do was listen all he wanted to talk about was racin, or chassis set ups, or motors, heck I even think he had 104 octane for blood ya Dean was truely a racer, and so was his daddy, heck his dad could even smoke a cigar and drive lol, those were the days. Friday Debbie and I ate lunch at China Buffet and I talked to Dean as he was leaving we were talking about breaking valves (ya motor stuff racin stuff ) thats what Dean was all about and thats what made Dean the great guy he was. And shucks I wasn't his runnin buddy or his crewman or his neighbor. But he was a good friend that I'll surely miss. Scott

Well like dirtgirl had said. I have searched and searched for what to say on this. And I still have no clue but as everyone has said Dean was one of a kind and will always be know for his opinions even if you didnt like them as I must say I disagreed with his opinions quite often. I will MISS you alot buddy even tho the last few months we didnt see eye to eye or talk to each other. Our deepest thoughts and prayers go out to the Motsinger family and friends. God Bless you Dean!!!

Like others have said........ I also did not know Dean Motsinger personnally BUT in the race family you do not have to know someone personally to feel like you know them..........when something so tragic happens it effects all of us.......

I have interviewed many drivers......I regret never getting to meet up with Dean..........sounds like a big loss on my part...

My heartfelt sympathy goes out to his wife and kids, his parents and to Trashdog and his new wife and to all the race family...

I guess like a lot of you, I just can't get Dean and this whole incident out of my mind. Hopefully once we get to racing season again we can do something to honor Dean's memory. To give you an idea of how Dean was always thinking about racing related stuff like this this, a couple of years ago when Glen Miller passed away it was Dean who talked to me about doing a special award in the Driver's Seat awards in Glen's honor. That's where the Glen Miller Memorial Award came from. Basically it's my paper's humanitarian award. Maybe Jimmy or one of the tracks could do something similar....

millsey.. if you want to give dean credit for the glen miller award, then fine... i am not one to quibble. but.. if you remember correctly, it was me that had the idea about the glen miller award. but.. i will give credit for the idea to dean. we had said some not nice things to each other in the past, so this will be my small part to make amends to him/ his memory. it really, in hindsight does not matter who did/ suggested what. just wanted to set the record straight. thanks for all you have done for the motsingers in light of all of this.thanks,art.

Art you're right.... I confused you and Dean... FORGIVE ME DEAN!! LOL... I can hear him now giving it to me for confusing you with him.... Oh my!! The idea is still valid though..

Today was Dean's funeral, and I thought about him a lot, especially this afternoon. R.I.P. Dean. I am going genuinely going to miss sparring with you on this forum.

todd, dean was in my thoughts alot today as well, wish the funeral would have been closer to where i could have attended.im a pretty strong person and this really hit home with me,i didnt know dean that great, but i did talk to him quite often, matter a fact usually bought alot of his used motor/chassis parts,as well as talked to him about chassis ect over the phone.dean and i pretty much agreed on most things we talked about on here, probably cause we both think the same way on most subjects, that being why i didnt butt heads with him like alot of others.i will greatly miss talking to dean, and im glad hes in a better place now, godspeed brother!!!!!!!!
