I have been around racing for 25 years and have been involved with IMCA USRA and UMP. UMP is good for the supers and A-mods but the lower levels of racing is a joke with them. Let's face it the lower classes are what keeps the doors open, they pay the same to get in but get little pay. The...
Beer sales would help make a profit, I was on my way to map last sat night when they got rained out. Turned around and went to pevely and was amazed at how many empty beer boxes I saw. There is a huge profit on beer sales

This sucks, I have never been to a race track where the promoter stand at the gates on the way out and shakes everyone's hand and tells them thank you for coming out. Jim was doing a great job so far this year. This place will never make it as long as Randy has anything to do with it. Why was...
The no beer sales is that in the contract from Randy? That's going to hurt. I am glad the b-mod guys made a good showing just wish the ss guys would have too. I still think the tcs rules are the best option and give the class a few years to grow. Cant wait for March!

Doesn't UMP have a membership fee as well? If a lot of stl guys are liking the USRA rules then I would go with USRA, Just simply for what they do for the track, they provide a tech person, they provide a point fund as well. If Fulton is thinking about going USRA then this might be the time for...
Like most have said on here run a TCS type Street stock, USRS and IMCA hobbies are pretty close to those rules, Keep it on street tires as all 3 of those run street tires, no one will go out and buy an extra set of tires just to come race there. You might want to rethink the b-mod option and run...
Would be nice if they ran the TCS street stock rules and take the time to let the class grow there. TCS has the best set of street stock rules in the area.
Then why make them pay a membership if it's not UMP rules. So now they are making you pay a membership or lose the sanactioning why not make the rules the same or you lose the sanactioning. If UMP is so great to have then the tracks will change the rules
I have been reading all of this and cant really understand why everyone is *****ing about this. All other sanctioning bodies charges a membership fee. Yes most allow a one night temp license. The only problem I have with it is that all the tracks across the county for late and mods are the same...
IMCA and USRA already allow newer monte Carlo bodies on older monte frames. The street stocks around here are alot like the IMCA hobby stocks so your not really getting away from other tracks
I think the best thing for UMP is to drop the sportsman, add SS and teak the motor rules just a little. Run a Holley 4412 carb then add a true sport mod class not just a 3 link mod class. That way when a SS driver wants to move up to mods they can take the motor out of the SS and put in a sport...
Well it sounds to me that it's time for UMP to s&!t or get off the lot and make a set of rules and all tracks use them. If the tracks want to go out on their own that's there problem. They will lose cars. Just think if all tracks in the area said in 2014 we are going to IMCA rules that will give...
They just need to do it. I am pretty sure tracks wont drop UMP all together. Late Models and Mods and go just about anywhere they want to run but the local 8-5 worker who wants to race because he loves the sport can only go to 1 track. Make the changes in phases don't just change it all together...
I am new to the whole UMP thing. I am used to USRA IMCA type rules for street stocks and hobby stocks. But UMP allows tracks to run different rules for the same class to get National points? That seems to me the dumbest thing I have heard. Someone help me understand this better, the difference...
