i dont really 'get' what all the talk is about epa. take a look at most any racetrack at the end of the night's racing. all that black out there is rubber ground into the dirt. rubber is full of chemicals; read that petroleum, oil, and petroleum by-products;even that brand new hoosier straight...

when this thread dies down a bit, and slowly fades to back pages, maybe the 'tire policeman' could focus his energies on the "$2.50 for a cup of ice" scandal at one local track a week or so ago. that affected more spectators than this does.

we can all go to bed tonite knowing the tire police are all over this!

i dont have a 'dog in this fight', so to speak, and i could care less who does what to their tires, shocks, engine, trans, whatever.. thats SOLELY a competitor's and sanctioning body issue..but i do know that if there was not a demand for this type of product, then the man wouldnt be in...

i meant to say " remaining IMPARTIAL is a must". sorry for my error..... also, it was not specifically stated if that tire in question was actually used in competition. if it was not used, then no rules were broken. if it was used, then i dont see that it's anybody's business but ump"s...

i would think mr. dearing classifies himself as a member of the media, and, as a member of the media, remaining partial is a must. i dont see that very often. jmo.
