07-08 Blues thread

The bad thing about that Jen is that most are on the road and I don't see the Blues playing any better away from the Scott. I guess I still have a little hope but Saturday's game against the Sharks is huge.

I know there are a lot of road games ahead but our luck has to change sometime right? Maybe something will change. 12 of our 18 games are on the road. Which s u c k s but maybe we can get something going on the road. I just can't give up on them yet and even if they don't make the playoffs this year it will be ok we are rebuilding our team. At least we are not so far out that there is no chance like the last two years.

I now have at least 1 ticket available for tomorrow night and I will know inthe morning if I have 2. any takers?

do you want to meet me there or email them to you. I usually go to the Shed at Union Station 1st to get a couple of cheep beers

What time do you get down there? It really doesn't matter to me either way is fine. I can meet you there that way you don't have to pay to e-mail them to me.

Well, another lackluster game for the Blues. I don't really have much to say after that, other than we are at 6 losses in a row, and can't score a dang goal to save our lives. Pretty sad when you've only scored 4 goals in 175 shots or something like that. Guys just aren't jelling together or something. We need a major overhaul!!! Guess we just start looking forward to next season. This season has sure been a disappointment that's for sure.

I have pretty much given up hopes for the playoffs, but I still remain a fan and will continue to watch the rest of the season unfold.

By no means am I a hockey guru. But I have been saying all season that Andy Murrays teams have always been "streaky". Its either a win streak or loosing streak with nothing in between. While Andy was a welcome addition and was able to pull the strings together from the Mike Kitchen travesty it is time for him to go. He cannot motivate the team to play consistant every night, he does not like young players, he overemphasizes the defensive side of the game, he knows nothing about teaching or drilling a powerplay unit or designing offensive schemes or breakouts. The offensive minded guys are frustrated and not scoring for a reason. How long has it been since Boyes or Kariya has put one in? We better get someone in here who likes to work with the younger guys and is willing to give them the tutoring and mentorship they need. We have some really good players in the pipe that will be ruined under Murray.

I also feel there is also some dead weight that needs to be traded or released this off-season. McClement, McKee, Toivonen, King, Tchachuk, Rucinsky, Mike Johnson just to name the obvious. We need a couple of BIG wingers who can play the way Walt used to.

Stemp, RJ, and Hinote need a wake up calls too. They are really good defensive minded forwards who are flourishing under Murrays system, but less than 20 goals between them is unacceptable for our third line players.

Good to see we signed Boyes for 4 more years.

This offseason is going to be so important for the future. The right decisions concerning moves will have to be made and I hope they can get some of these youngsters(Oshie & Berglund) worked in next year so we can get something going. The future will be now here pretty soon. I am still onboard with this current rebuild so lets go Blues! :)

Seem's like Murray's magic has worn off. Kind of makes you wonder how the state of the locker room is. I'm glad Boyes signed as long as he does'nt tail off in goal scoring because we need all we can get. I also think Murray need's to quit jerking around Perron and play him on the #1 line.

Whenever we hired Murray I told my wife I didn't like the move cause his teams always seemed to flounder. I was pleasantly suprised in the beginning but the true Murray seems to have appeared. I can't beleive that Davidson doesn't get more invovled, he seems like he could be a great motivator. Perons problem is he thinks hes a Gretzky or something. At the beginning of the year he was skating it in and shooting. Now he tries stick handling it all the time and looses it. He also at times seems to forget he's not the only one on the ice. I agree with Mike that we need to get some bigger guys that want to play on the front line. Our little guys might be fast but one good shove and they're against the boards. Like Mike I wont give up on them but They really need to dig deep and play like they want to win. Saturdays game was one of the worst games I've seen all year.

Solid game against the Kings. IFwe can beat the Wings tonight, the Blues might be able to turn things around. Boyes need's to start a scoring streak.

Another pathetic showing by the Blues. No jump from anybody last night. Murray decides to scratch King and Janssen while the Wings have Downey in their line up. I thought the whole reason of getting Janssen was to have some energy in their line up. I think that was J.D.'s thought and apparently Murray does'nt feel that way. The only passion anybody showed was at the end of the game when Mayers, Walker and Johnson went after Downey and by that time it was too late. I think they ought to pack it in for the year, play the young guy's and put King and Janssen on the same line so we can have a little bit of entertainment the rest of the season.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

I dont think they played that badly. We just cant get the puck in the net. The chances we had that didnt go in were the same for detroit but theirs went in. Kinda reminds me of last year where they were right there in a lot of games but didnt get the win.

They didn't play to bad, but in my opinion neither game (LA or DET) were the desperation efforts we need right now. And my god...Can we please get rid of "ol concrete hands" Tchacuk in the off season. That idiot had 6 different scoring chances and couldn't control the puck or accept the pass. I've had it with Murray. I just don't understand his logic at all. Perron played (according to John Kelly) only 4 minutes in the second and third period. Never tried to put him (one of the more creative players on our team) out on the power play... instead we see Tchacuk...and guess what he did??? Thats right, turned the puck over. Atleast Perron is trying and he had two really good shifts in the first period. Walt is just going thru the motions again. Same old stale powerplay, and what was the checking line of Mayers, Backes, and Johnson doing out on the PP in the third period?

I agree with dirtgoon, lets pack it in for the year and play the young guys guts out for the rest of the year.
