07-08 Blues thread

I agree drb28. I'm not a Jackman fan at all, and he hasn't impressed me one bit. Oh well, they don't ask for our opinion I guess.

Well, another lackluster game by the Blues. Sounds like they were more physical, but still cant get a puck in the goal. 10 points out now and I don't see them coming back this year. The way they've been playing, they don't deserve to be in the playoffs this year. I'm a huge Blues fan, but this isn't the year for the underdog. I just can't believe how the team fell apart. I like Murray, but he's not getting something across this year obviously. We need some type of major shake up. I know we're still rebuilding, but still have too much talent on the ice to not be better than what we are. Just my opinion.

too little effort, too many stupid mistakes, too much undisciplined play leading to waaaaayyyyyy too many power plays for vancouver. it is darn difficult to win a game when you spend 25% of the game shorthanded. i just don't get why they have so much difficulty doing simple things like CLEARING THE DAM PUCK OUT OF THE ZONE!!!! geeeezus... it's not that hard, really! the other team seems to do it real well! they don't deserve to be in the playoffs, because they are gonna get stomped in the first round. i've said it before in an earlier post; there doesn't seem to be a big sense of urgency on the blues' part to step up their play/effort... there is still time, sure, but there better be a some shake-ups real soon in that locker room! part of the problem, as i see it, is how do you motivate mediocre players like jackman? he just got his 14 million dollar deal(or whatever he got).

Jackman was arguably the best Blue on the ice Saturday against the 'Nucks and that is'nt saying much. Murray will play the young guy's from here on out so Perron will get alot of ice time. Tonights game against the Flames will be a fun one to watch if Murray has the line with King and Janssen intact. I look for King and Godard to go tonight.

How funny its going to be if the young guns come out shooting and start winning games. If so maybe the old guns will wake up.

At this rate we may end up with the first pick in the draft or at least pretty close to it! :D

I say go ahead and tank the rest of the season as long as King and Janssen provide the entertainment.;)

With the exception of the first period, I thought the Blues played a pretty good game. In fact, they probably played their best period all year in the second. They've played decent hockey but they just can't get over the hump. Last night's game was entertaining although I would've liked to see King and Stortini go at it or Janssen mix it up with someone. The silver lining in all this is that we'll be getting a good first round pick in a very deep draft. Of course the Blues nation battle cry seem's to be "Can't wait for next year!", but I like the young guy's we got.

ST. LOUIS – St. Louis Blues President John Davidson announced today that the team has signed goaltender Ben Bishop. Bishop will join the Peoria Rivermen for the remainder of the season.

The 6-7, 210-pound netminder just completed his junior season at The University of Maine, recording a 13-18-3 record along with a 2.43 goals against average and a .920 save percentage. He was named Hockey East Defensive Player of the Week three times this season, while being named Hockey East Goalie of the Month for the month of October.

He led the Black Bears to the Frozen Four last season, compiling a 21-9-2

Bishop registered a 55-34-7 career record at Maine ranking third all-time in games played (99), second in saves (2,399), fifth in wins (55) and fourth with a 2.29 goals against average.

He was originally St. Louis’ third round selection, 85th overall in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft. Bishop spent three years at Chaminade High School in St. Louis before joining the Texas Tornado of the North American Hockey League following his junior year.

HMMM wonder when we will see him play?

I look for Bishop to be our goalie of the future. That kid is huge. Fills up the net and moves well for being so big. Just another reason why things will turn around soon for the note.

Big Ben

He will even drop the gloves if he has too. I wouldn't want to be a forward and come at him too strong, this big son af a gun may just take your head off! :D

There is just not much to say about this team anymore. They just have no drive or motivation. They aren't even exciting to watch at all, because you just know they are going to deflate at any given time. I just wish the season would hurry up and end this misery. Just my opinion.

Thats the same story I hear this time of the year, every year. They must realy like taking the Blues Cruse's and sailing the seas instead of playing in the playoffs.

that's the problem they've got their summertime fun mixed in with their winter job maybe need to take up fishing during the summer or hunting :D:D

With very little hope of the Blues making the playoffs I still get excited when they win.

I have to say that this was the best game the Blues have played on there road trip.
