Are you hearing voices again Jim?? Everyone on this post has wanted no porting and polishing and the cars to be teched. I still have yet to hear anyone but you and Joe want porting in this class.
He was the fastest MINISTOCK there that night. I'm not taking anything away from Wolf but Marty had already passed him so why insinuate that Wolf was a coming but he didn't win because they cut the race short. That was the fault of the track. You could maybe say that if Marty started in front of Wolf and Wolf was coming and the race was cut short, but Marty had already passed him. But Wolf did say he was counting laps and waiting to make the move to get the lead back.
This is the problem with people that want to open rules up and it's usually just a few and they are going to do it regardless...The majority can play within the rules and be competitive and have a great time racing...then there’s others that start out racing within the rules and can't get it up front maybe due to driving ability and handling. So then they go out and spend money pushing the rules to compensate... But then that's JMO..
And Jim how do you know MCS has the best ministocks? Yes you have some good guys up there but to think your group is better is a little conceded. You ever bring your truck to drr or the rock and race against them like Jack, Butch, Duck, Pat Brewer, and Rob Deny did. All are good ministock drivers from MCS and some with many wins. Then they come to DRR or the Rock and ask them about the competion. They'd tell you it was just as tough down there. Ok your car count is better right now, but we have 2 tracks within 15 minutes apart racing ministocks at the same time. But add them up and we have the same. And i'm just guessing if you had another track within 20 minutes of MCS racing ministocks at the same time a good chunk would be running there due to the rule situation there.
Anyways why do i care, i'm not in this class anymore. I just take offense and feel for my ol friends in the ministock trying to save the class i guess.
Good luck to all you guys and gals kinda STUCK in that situation right now.
It would not be a lost cause, if people get on here and say they want the rules more open then it is a new ballgame but right now it is everyone in agreement. We all want this and are standing up for what we want, why will no one get on here and say they liked this years rules. Tell them to PM me and I will layoff a bit. I have had many conversations through PM's even with your brother and I never take what is PM'ed to me and put it out for everyone else to see.
I think Duck was right when he just gave up. THat would be great if you would help the rules go back to what they were but I think you just like to argue Jim. Everytime someone makes a ligitement comment you twist the thread around to a different angle to argue. I should have remembered last year when everyone was complaining about your Ford rear end. I got on here and defended you and you wanted to argue with me anyway.
You never answered my earlier question. Do the Fords get different rules in the other classes because they have problems competing for the same money??
Marty managed to do it in a Chevy under the old rules that were teched so it can be done.
Everytime I went on the track I knew my car or truck was legal within the rules by what was in BLACK & WHITE, not the gray area. I was always honest with my equipment and hope my competion was the same. If I won I took pride knowing I did it within those rules and not by running something not allowed just because I knew it wouldn't get TECHED!
As far as the Hubcap & Wheel Store shorten race, I too believe it was a good show, especially when I was standing holding the BIG TROPHY in Victory Lane. Jealous Envy Jim? Knowing that I was able to win with my DRR legal truck without spending $$$ such as you to win against Wolf!
As far as my input on rules being STUPID (post #139), I thought we were all adults here. I will try to go slow so everyone can understand.
You asked:
#2 How will you tell what crank is in it?
That's why tech would do a cylinder volume check on the top 5 to measure Bore & Stroke at random or weekly. Tech would already have info on the volume of stock stroke and max bore and anything over that would be deemed illegal.
#3 What are you going to take your motor apart to weigh your rods?
15lb. vacuum rule would make it pointless to spend more for light weight rods (you won't get any lighter than stock 2.5s and live & the Ford rods are strong enough for the SVO turbo 2.3 and high RPMs ) RPMs will be limited due to cam profile to meet vacuum rule. Asked Shannon he had to change his cam to meet DRR 15lb. vacuum rule.
#10 & #11 I would hope they get it FREE if it's useless & illegal !
#12 If Ford 9" rearend allowed in all makes was in the rules, there would be no reason to guestion it. Was it in the rules when yours was question? How about that ADJUSTABLE SLIDER BLOCK you had attaching the rearend to the springs? Why would someone place a tarp on the bed of their truck after they saw me look if it if they felt they where legal?
Enough said, If everyone took pride in knowing that they WON and that it was due to their driving skill and not because they had to use cheater parts because they knew it wouldn't get checked or they had time & $$$ to watch Ebay for the very few Super-Duty deals the Mini-Stock class would be better off.
