Street stock tech!

A good tech program is what keeps the racing good. There's nothing wrong with innovation that also is one of the funniest parts but you need to keep a leash on cheating or it gets out of hand. I didn't start this post calling anyone out. I just love this class and want it to stay around. It looks like you run all over the south. Are you sayin you don't get teched down there. Because from what I've herd there pretty dam good at making sure everyone is legal. In the last few years there has been very little around here.

Or our cars are as good as they are going to get within the rules because we don't want to cheat them up like some of the others have. And our cars are ready to go for the next race. So we do have some free time. And yes we are bitching about a select few about cheating but it's only because the ones we are complaining about have been caught cheating at other tracks this year and haven't gotten tore down at our local tracks for whatever reason. It just seems odd to us that's all. And for the record I don't suspect Harris or Gaither are cheating. I don't know who the others are that you listed so I can not comment on them
And this is the problem. Well this is as good as our car will be and when someone else is faster cause they continue to work and change their cars they must be cheating!! And how the hell do you know the cars winning are cheating? Your taking the word of a track with a piece of equipment they don't know how to use? If you truly believe them to be a cheater then why not step up and put your money where your mouth is and when the result is not what you expected then maybe you'll go back to the garage and make your car better if that's possible since it's as fast as its gonna get under the current rules. What a joke!!

Pate11 I agree I love the class and want to see it thrive again and a good tech program needs to be put in place but this complaing game is as ridiculous as the so called "cheating"

I know how to make the car faster but unfourntanly the rules won't allow me to be competitive. I.e. the rules won't even let me run a factory part on the car even tho it's the "stock" class and that one part alone will make me 10x more competitive but rules are rules. And it sounds like you are afraid of being tore down. Me I say bring it on you are complaining about us complaining. But what I see is a majority of the guys want more tech and tear down the cars. So why wouldn't you if that's whatbthebraces want. I would love to see them tear down every street stock and if I'm wrong you will never hear me say another thing about cheating. And shit I'll even go first in line for a tear down I have nothing to hide. But it sounds like you don't want to get tore down which makes it sound like ur afraid of somethinf. Anybody who is against pulling some the cars obviously has something to hide in my opinion. And when it comes to the the tracks knowing how to use the equipment they have I'm pretty one of the things they found wrong with one of the cars was that it had the wrong rocker arms on it. But that totally sounds like they didn't know how to use the equipment because that's now you check rocker arms lol

Even if you win, it's hard to justify tearing down motors. Do the math. Head gasket $45 to $50, oil and filter $40 to $50 plus, intake gaskets, $15 to $20, valve cover gaskets, $10 to $40, header gaskets, $10 to $30........ At $150-$200 to win,How long are you going to be racing if you won frequently? I haven't even mentioned the time to get it all put back together if you wanted to run the next night. That cuts into the time you could be maintaining the car, scaling it, washing it, picking an internet forum argument with a guy that does far more with much less and just flat knows his stuff (BWRC),or bashing a track that is TRYING to give you a nice place to race.

First of all I never said anything about anyone cheating I just know from being around racing my whole life that if you do not tech the BUDGET classes ,you will lose control! New drivers and cars that would be starting will not because the cost is astanomical. This is the only class we have to bring new drivers in. Why wouldn't anyone want to keep it within the rules. I never started this post for bitching rather then ideas on how to keep everyone in check.

Gdirt I didn't realize the street stock pay out is how you make your bread and butter. It must be a real bitch racing and living off of a possible 300 a week. You must starve if you don't win!!

Hell if we go by what GDIRT says its a run what ya brung! Its pretty much that now! Guess he is one who doesnt want tech because he is one of the cheaters!

Pate11 Please understand that I didn't mean to offend anyone. I believe there is good argument to tech vs no tech. However teching(pulling a head) would add yet another expense that we could all probably agree defeats the purpose of a budget class. Many other parts of the country bombers are $500 to win. That would clearly take some of the sting out of being torn down. As far as making a living racing bombers, fat chance. The better head gaskets are optional, but about $45 each. It would be awesome to have a budget class with identical cars, and the only difference would be drivers. Is IROC still around? My biggest fear is that promoters will get tired of all the whining and get rid of the class altogether. Again not saying I don't want tech, It just seems to take a lot of the fun out of winning when it costs you almost as much to put your stuff back together as winning pays locally.

We have been racing for years and we have yet to come out on the positive side of the financial part of racing. We don't even run the 110 fuel we just go to the gas station and buy 93 octane because it's 5 dollars cheaper a gallon. And by the time we drive an hour to the track pay $30 person a to get in and run the car and then drive home. At that if we where to win that night which pays $150 we would be breaking even for the night of racing. So I can't figure out how some of you claim to make $1000's racing this class. So with that being said it's very discouraging to the average joes like us ( which is what this class is for) to see guys win almost every night and not get tore done at least once. And I really don't like the idea of have identical cars because I know a lot of people that I bring to the track don't like watching the mods or late models they say it's boring watching a bunch of the same car going around the track. They like seeing a varity of cars racing against each other. And I know tricity has that almost every weekend and I think people like seeing that. And if you have won that much money the $100 or you would spend on gaskets shouldn't be that big of a deal. So why not tear them down

I race tri city on a weekly basis, Jake and Brent do have a bigger pocket book than most out there, but I can almost guarantee they're in the shop adjusting their cars and fixing their cars more than most people out there are. They put in a lot of time and work on them cars and it shows, just lets quit the bitching and get better, everyone is beatable.

Pumping them down doesn't tell you shit! They need to pull the heads and intake off to actually see Whats goin on because that just tells you the c.I. not what parts are in it

I just think we need to have a good tech program where you never know what there checkin but you know there probably going to check somthing. Most if not every night. Thank you Charlie for checking somthing lets hope other tracks keep it up too. I know highland checked front ends last week too.
