He will be missed by a lot of people... But dont morn his death, Go out and have a Bud Light and watch a race that is what he would want!!!

Dizzy where do I begin??? You were one of a kind my freind there is no one else like you. It hasen't quite set in to all of us yet but we love you and will miss you. Carol and Leonard your in our thoughts and prayers. We love you all!!!

I really don't know what to say or how to do it. I recieved a message from Dean last night as he was walking Northbound I-55. As many of you know, I am carrying his son with only 8 weeks left to go. He called me at 2:39 am and I tried to call back at 3:19 am and it went straight to his voicemail. In between that time, is supposedly when this took place.

Dean was Dean, one of a kind. He loved racing, EVERYTHING about it. He touched many people's lives in many different ways. He thought no one cared, but just look around..... I'm still trying to debate on what lesson/ purpose is exactly supposed to be obtained from this. Well, I guess that I will have my son, fatherless now, but I have him.

It will either be later this evening, or more like tomorrow when we find out the arrangements. If someone else doesn't put them on here, I will. I went down to farmington this morning, and no one is taking it well. I know the "Motsingers" would appreciate everyone's kind thoughts. I don't know what else to say... if anyone has anything to pass on to the family I can do so. My number is 1-618-334-5460. Thank you to everyone.

i still am in aww about this whole thing, everytime i talked to dean on the phone he always seemed so happy and full of life.like i said i wasnt best freinds with him and didnt know him the best, but i did talk to him quite a bit through email and the phone and he really helped me out alot.everytime he had something for sale he would let me know first before he announced it.he was a great man and will be missed by many, not just for his racing, but for just the person he was.again our thoughts and prayers are with everyone++++++++++++++++++++++

Why?

I'm sure there are MANY, MANY people out there who are asking themselves that very question. Why? Why did this happen? What could I have done differently? So many questions with little to no answers. Like some have posted, they weren't Dean's best friend and they had their differences with him, but they still knew he had a good heart and genuinely cared about people (especially his friends and family). When I got the message EARLY this morning, I didn't know what to say. Sure, Dean and I had our disagreements and I liked to hassle him and give him a hard way to go, but he and I still had our share of laughs and long talks. He could make me so mad in one sentence and make me laugh in the next. He had a heart full of love for racing, but more than that, he loved being a Daddy. Dean Motsinger will NEVER be forgotten and he will live on in the lives of many.....with his family and the people he helped out in racing.

His family will be in my thoughts and prayers. May God be with all of them in this difficult time of loss. It's not easy, but He'll give you the strength. Like Shannon said in his post, it won't be the same driving by his shop and not seeing him out there working on a racecar or some other project. I look forward to seeing Leonard have the #44 car as a tribute to Dean.

Our thoughts and prayers for the Motsinger family. I did'nt know Dean, but checked out his shop every time I drove by to try to get a look at his car, as this family has been a big part of racing for so many years.

This Is Very Sad News. My Heart Goes Out To Dean's Family And Friends. God Bless Them All.

I Wasn't Really Friends With Dean. Just A Freindly Aquaintance I Guess You'd Say. I've Talked With Him Here And There At The Track. Like Has Been Said, I Didn't Always Agree With Him. But He Was A Man With Definite Opinions. And Wasn't Afraid To Let Them Be Known. You Have To Respect A Man For That.

Godspeed Dean!

R.i.p.

Thoughts and prayer go out to everyone affected by this tragic accident. I never meet Dean but heard very good things about him and he will be deeply missed. If anyone does "In memory" stickers for the cars for next year please post something and i will be more than happy to pay tribute to him with that.
